Calderon For Maggette?

If we can't move Ford this summer then we might just have to deal away Jose and Maggette would be some nice compensation. Only thing we gotta hope and pray for is that Corey's injury woes are long behind him.

Maggette doesn't excite me at all. He might be our second scorer, but he hasn't exactly proven himself to be a difference maker by any means. ford for maggette? not even sure if i'd do that.

Maggette would definitely solve this teams problems of driving to the basket and getting to the stripe. This guy is consistently at the top when it comes to FTA/YR.

I would pull this trigger as much as I love Calderon. I don't think a swap would work, maybe other assets going the other way.

After seeing so many mentions of Maggette being the guy that should come to Toronto, and never really agreeing with it, I just don't even want to se that name again. He could fill a need, but here's what I don't get - people say that Ford is selfish and makes poor decisions, but Maggette beats him hands down in those departments. So if Ford has been hated on, many times while trying to fill shoes that are a little big out of necessity, I don't understand why anyone would want to see someone fill them a little more suitably in some respects, but leaving behind the effectiveness that brings wins. In other words we'd be looking at what TJ does in some games to try to fill holes, except we'd see it every game.

Maggettes a good player but he isnt even a good 3rd scoring option on a team that is good enough to get to the conference finals+ because hes a dumbass and plays no defence. He gets to the line a lot but he gives it all back at the other end.

I wouldnt trade Jose for him

Maggette is turrible. One-way offensive player.

i dont know why people bring up this maggz shit...isnt it apparent that we need a inside defender...and a well rounded offesive and defensive player that can do good on both sides of the court...the thing about Raptors fan everyone is looking for a quick fix and ignoring long term goals...maggette in my opinion onlyput up 20 ppts cayuse he played for the clippers andw as there go to guy...in toronto he wont have the same affect

I'd do Maggz for TJ, but not for Calderon. Maggette is Vince Carter-lite, injuries and all. Not the greatest attitude, but can fill up a stat-sheet and easily be a 2nd option.

Calderone will be an allstar next season (if he gets starters minutes and gets to run this team), Maggette will not be an allstar ever.
i totally agree with what JayJay said; getting Maggette - thats just a quick fix, band aid approach. its a mistake to trade calderone for some small time chump.
maggette is not the answer for this team.
sure he can get to the line and drives to the rim, but he doesnt solve our rebounding or defensive issues. he's another player who will need 15 shots a game to put up good numbers.
he's a loser on a loser team.
Tj and a filler for maggette would be more fitting IMO.

I've disliked Maggette ever since his rookie year with the Magic when he missed time from a toe infection following a pedicure.

Wow, if you guys complain about TJ being shot happy, you would chase Corey out of town. Shoot first, shoot second, shoot off-balance, doesn't matter. Never met a shot he didn't like.

TJ for Corey would be a great deal for Toronto, but, not so much Jose.

However, can't really see the Clipps taking on TJ.

Maybe not Eze.

But I know this much.

TJ is an OX compared to what the Clips got right now in Livingston

Oh no doubt....but Sterling is Mr. Money.

As much crap as the Clippers get, they make money....which is more than a lot of teams can say. That's always been Sterling's #1 priority...which sucks for all 7 Clipper fans.

Wouldn't be worth it for us, Calderon, 17 and sign and trade delfino for Maggette and 7 closer as far as value
