Raptors Calderon or Bayless?

Which one should be the starting PG this season. I for one would like to see Bayless get the starting role and see what he can do for the season since it's likely we're getting another losing season. I want to see him and our young players play a lot together. Besides Calderon is not in the long term plans for this franchise anyway. We have to really see what we have with Bayless, can he be a starter or is he a career backup. Going into next season our PG situation is hopefully clearer and this would be a start.

There is a small hope that Bayless can play like he did as a starter. His scoring is good, but court vision not much so. And defense is still poor.
We should sign a veteran defensive PG for backup/injury insurance.
Earl Watson, Antonio Daniels, hell even Marcus Banks would do. Loved his play on defensive end.
Rodney Stuckey is an option, but you would want to start him.
See how they play and trade or amnesty Calderon in offseason.

start bayless, see what he can do. If he can learn to assist i will accept shrotcomings in his defence. Hopefully a better all-round defensive team will make him improve slightly in that area.

I think its deffinately best to start bayless and throw him to the dogs this season to see what he can come up with. Besides Calderon always had good synergy coming off with our players on the bench.

I'd vote for Bayless as well. As much of a Calderon supporter as i have been in the past, it's time to move on and gear up for the future. At the moment JerryD is our only young PG so the choice is obvious.

Bayless has a better upside, so hopefully Casey hands him the reins. Bayless has the size and athleticism to be a very good defensive player, but he needs to move his feet better. Casey should definitely help him in this area.

Bayless, hands down. Its not even a debate... Calderon should never start on this team again.

if bayless can prove to be a really good starter, would you guys be ok with jose resigning with a smaller contract coming of the bench?

I sign on the caldy trade or caldy amnesty
we need a new pg era, i hope JBay can be it, but if not, can we bring here a nicepg ? i doubt, so this year that can be about Jbay on backcourt. so be it.

caldy out, and barg out, that could be the best for the futur of this team.

amen !!!

start calderon. he's extremely sensitive, so demoting him is counter-productive if you're looking to establish any sort of value out of him. have him play most of his minutes with the second unit, though. he's always been good at getting production out of them.

what bayless accomplished at the end of the season is absolutely meaningless. we've seen hundreds of scrubs light it up the last week or two of the season with nothing on the line and half of the starters sitting out injured or resting. he needs to prove a fair bit before he's just handed the starting spot.

Caderon is miles better than Baylisss. WTF man. Baylis is terrible. If you wanna tank for a high pick, yeah, start Bayliss.

well you's better look up a word meaning "worse than awful" so I can use it to describe Bayliss. Honestly ,am, i guess absence is a remedy for a lot of things, but all i remembe is that he is entirely incapale of running an NBA team. Calderon, if healthy is at least average if not better.

calderon has played more than 68 games in only 2 seasons in his nba career. his hammy's are garbage. he can't run fast, has no lateral quickness, and is among the worst nba pg's defensively. he is killing us in terms of penetration and needs to go, if for that reason only.

bayless hasn't proven anything, but at least he is young and improving instead of aging and getting worse. even though jose isn't an old guy, he plays like one, defends like one and seems to be falling apart.

and we need to trun the page and start in a new direction. jose brings nothing to teh table except knowing how to dribble up the court and make an entry pass. he's done.

better, yes. but Calderon still sucks. there are other factors besides who's better when deciding who to start.

you managed to spell bayless 3 different ways in such a short post, and none of them correct. :P
