I dont' know...

Calderon and a nice young player for a guy looking for a huge payday.

Doesn't seem worth it to me.

Assuming Marion picks up his player option for this season it's for 17 million, so we'd have to throw in Rasho too to make the salaries work.

I dont like this trade. Im not sure if Marion is that slashing, scorer we need. he's more of an energy guy, a great traffic rebounder and still one of the better athletes in the league. Does he solve our need for a scoring, defensive minded swing?

I dont want Marion on this team. He may very well be a rental and thatd turn out absolutely horrible for us if he just comes for one year and bolts. The other negatives are him wanting to have a bigger role instead of winning, and his atrocious contract. Pass.

I'd love this deal, but only with TJ instead of Jose.

Marion to me is a player you add to help win you a championship or push you over that edge. He doesn't help you that much when you're trying to first establish a winning culture.

I think Marion, if he's smart, goes to a team like Dallas or Houston for less money but a chance at something special.

The only true upside i see in marion is his D, our defense throughout most of the season, particularly in the Orlando series was atrocious...he would have been matched up with Turkoglu or Lewis and would have kept them out of the paint...and is a help on the glass, steals, and blocks...our offense isn't horrid, marion would help but he isn't a stable legitimate scorer, considering he'd be gone tho after year 1, or his contract would have to be huge tho...its not worth it

I'd do that in a blink of an eye but something tells me that'll never happen. And can the Raptors even afford losing Cap space?

they can afford if they get their superstar. The whole point of having cap space is to sign someone like Marion ...

Raps don't have any cap space to play with anyway. They're going to be over it by 3-4 million or so, more if they use their LLE (if you have one) or MLE.

It's very doable if it's TJ since it gets him off your books, and if Marion doesn't resign...with he and Rasho expiring/traded in the deal, it leaves you with cap room to sign somebody the following off-season.

Not sure it helps in the long run though to get rid of Jose AND the 17th

Pass. Marion is just one of those dudes that doesn't care whether he wins or not. He's just all about the cash. Do we really want that? He's not one of those dudes that's a real impact player, just a complimentary player, a player that plays when he feels like it. He'd rather fill up a stat sheet than win a game.
