We could have used him tonight defending Monroe in the low post, that's for sure...

Nope. Monroe destroyed every big we've thrown at him, pretty much. Bargs is long enough and heavy enough with lower body strength to stand his ground in the post.

If you say so Mike....maybe you can sign Bargnani to play for your fantasy team to cover up for your point guards who can't guard anybody.

ugh, people there's no need to discount what someone is good at cause we hate them on our team. Bargnani is an above average man to man defender. he's a terrible help defender. in the right offensive system he's an efficient 17 or so ppg scorer, with good vision for a big man. he's a below average rebounder for his height, and an average boxer outer (however you would say that).

he doesn't work with this team, and should be traded for the right value in return.

is the above a fair representation of the enigma that is Bargs that could have been bargz?

I still think he can work on this team, just not as the main option. Hell he looked great last year, I remember posters like JeffB wondering when The great magician would return to the lineup during those calf strains.

Him and Lowry just need to take advantage of this time off and watch how the team is playing, and try and fit in to the system at hand.

Don't think he will be traded this season, perhaps in the offseason. If we continue to play well, and get close to the 8-9 spot, his presence would help.

Time will tell

Oh ya, and Butch Carter should stfu!

I think the problem with Bargs is his motivation (sounds strange when you speak of someone who earns as much money as him). He has the tools to be good offensively and average defensively (he can be quite good man to man and average in help --> last year streak).
So if he is able to find the motivation (perhaps having to earn his PT can do wonders) i think he can give much to this team, otherwise... he will be a black hole (on the floor and in the minds of his teammates) and should be traded ASAP.
I think his absence has benefited the team as a whole since its disheartening for his teammates to bust their backs off only to see him give a shit.

bargnani is still a good player who was going through a horrible stretch i still think he is the best player on the team when he is going right

i think people are throwing him under the bus and blaming him for everythign that went wrong but lets face it, ti was the whole team

he was apart of the problem but he wasn't the only one

Monroe scored at will against him as a rookie.

You are right if Bargs would have shown up demotivated as too many times this season, otherwise he is a capable man to man defender.

Balanced and fair assessment ... We shouldn't just get rid of him without something in return ... But it is time to say good bye

Monroe is a talented rookie... and he scored at will yesterday too. Kind of happens when you have a super-talented player. Heck, Maxiel looked like he was a star frontliner last night.

Raptors look better without Bargnani because He's not defensive minds at all. They should trade him for a defensive minded pg that can also pass well. Also random question, but when John Lucas got elbowed and t'd up against Irving, did Irving get a technical as well?

No... it was just a bad call. Irving was getting star treatment there.

Monroe was a good rook, and much better now.

Maxiel with 6 points and 4 boards certainly looked like a star.

I keep wondering when they're going to unleash Drummond and pair him with Monroe up front full-time.

was sorry, I'm sure yoiu're aware I was aware of that as I've been saying how much better Monroe is than Ed Davis for three seasons now.

fact - Bargnani has natural talent many would kill for. Fact, he has zero heart, no tenacity, and he aint a player.

I agree with ya, though I can see why they're bringing him along slowly too.... make him confident, bring it in spurts and not allow him to get discouraged by shitty stretches given they're probably wanting to make sure his past lethargy doesn't creep back up.

wasn't meaning to correct the grammar so much as agree. And comparing him with Ed Davis is lost on me. Very different players. All I know is that you have wanted Ed Davis traded for three seasons now, and I sure haven't kept track of all the players you thought were better.
