Default Buffery: Coach Isn't Worried about big two

From this morning's Sun

Quote:
"I have no doubts that they'll be ready and 100% by the time we start the (regular) season," Triano said, following a team practice yesterday at the ACC.

The regular season begins Nov.1.

Both Bosh and Turkoglu, whom the Raptors acquired via a four-way trade this summer, did a number of light drills in practice yesterday.

Turkoglu is relatively healthy, but fatigued after playing in the NBA Finals with Orlando in June and then playing for Turkey at the world championship qualifying tournament this summer in Poland
Quote:
"There's plenty of time. They're mentally involved in practices right now, they're watching everything we do and they're starting to get the itch and they're hungry to get out there and they're starting to do a little more.

"Chris did a little bit in practice (yesterday). Hedo did a little bit and Antoine, we're going to see how his knee reacts over the next couple of days," said Triano, adding that Turkoglu is biting at the bit to play.

I'm just glad that Stumpy is back, and I hope that other whiny guy has been let go.

No - it's the 28th, that would be off by more than two days.

They've got 22 days to be ready for the regular season. I assume by early next week, they'll be good to go. Giving them about two weeks to prepare.

the thing that scares me about hedo is how they keep labelling his situation as "needing rest". Sounds real suspicious too me. Rest? as in he's tired? as in he needs to sleep for a week? maybe an induced coma would do the trick and give him his energy back.
Seems to me like he's got a knee injury that they're hoping will heal with just "rest".

perhaps derozan is gonna have big minutes this year

They arent saying needed rest, the media is. Triano and BC both said they want to give him rest to make sure he doesnt tire from the long summer he had.

They also said that he is bitting at the bit to get on the court, so to speak.

Hey,Hedo had played till the finals if U've forgotten, than he played for his national team.So he played so ~140 games and he rested for 10 days.I think that wouldn't be a problem for such players not to play for 1 week.

They'll be ready for the regular season, but it's a bit frustrating that they're out now. The team we're watching in preseason is not at all the team that we'll be seeing throughout the year. Gotta think it'll take some time for these guys to gel on the court.
