Bryan Colangelo's next move?

If this continues and the Raptors are still struggling in a few weeks what will Colangelo do? What's his next move if things don't turn around?

probably trade Bosh first, then maybe jose. he basically screwed himself by resigning Bargs b4 his contract expired. we now know what kinda player he is and it seems like bench play is more suited for him.

Doubt he will do anything until the team he put together gets a chance to play. Evans is still due to show his impact.
Unless he gets Monta Ellis cheap

Looked at the roster again... Damn, this is a fine team! Top10 in talent and depth.

i wanted to vote trade Calderon and Bargs but i doubt he will do it. Too much failure to admit on his part if he were to get rid of 2/3 of the core. (especially a #1 pick after giving him extension) However, i think this is what has to happen.

Bosh unfortunately will be gone either way... maybe you trade him to get something.

I think he should trade Calderon..
he kills are team on defense.. all the athletic point guards break down are teams defense because Calderon is the first man at top getting beat. We need toughness at that position, I am not saying to start Jack, but yesterday I seen him take it to the net, get bumped, and still made the basket for an and1. Calderon can't do that

if we had a guard like a Monte Ellis, or just somebody that can break down oposings teams defense, do you know how much smoother the offense would be.. Bosh wouldn't even have to work that hard..

when point guards like Rondo, Nelson etc... see Calderon, they look at him like... look at this soft guy.. Imma go at him

Calderon is the last guy left from the horrible Babcock era.. he needs to move

I was to say fire traino, but lets face it, that aint gonna happen.

Think....... Smitch is still getting paid this year and then we are gonna fire triano and pay 2 head coatches that dont weven work for the team any more

So I would say getting rid of jose is the next best thing. The guy is hurting us on D badly.

Jose is out for sure. He's better off playing for the Bobcats or something.

Yeah - absolutely. His ability to play team defense suddenly will reappear.

Bargs was much less of a liability when Marion was in the picture. They need to find a similar way to make things work out for him and the team, or they could be in for a long season.

If BC is a man he'll get rid of Bargs. But that would make him look bad so it aint happening.

Both Bargnani and Bosh are liabilities on defense. Neither of them are weak-side shot blockers, they each suck at rotating on defense, and you know what it's easy to be exposed when your perimeter defenders are being beat on nearly every single possession.

It starts from the top of the arc. DeMar does the best job of staying in front of his man on defense and even he is being blown-by on a consistent basis. Bosh and Bargnani are having to rotate, help, leave their man and attempt to bail out shitty perimeter defense on seemingly every possession - whether they're good or not, they're bound to fuck up more than the average big man at the end of the day.

It's our perimeter defenders who should be shouldering most of the blame, but people only remember who screws up last.

until we know what Bosh will do, you can't make big trades - that's obvious.
If Bosh leaves, depending on what you get in return (picks or good players), you decide whether you start rebuilding around bargnani, or try to compete with the new roster.

If you rebuild, you only trade Calderon if you get high quality picks, having a unselfish PG is great for a rebuilding team. Of course, if we could get nash for Calderon or something crazy like that, he might do something. Very unlikely

I mostly agree, but Bosh is not at all a liability on defense. He at least knows what he should be doing, who he should be boxing out, where he should be. Bargnani is confused all too often. But otherwise I agree - and that's what I meant about Marion fixing a lot of ills.

My point was that Bargnani moving to PF solves nothing. He technically plays there a good deal of the time as things stand now. Bosh is playing more like a center, and guarding centers about as much as Bargs, if not more.

So you think they'll be ready to trash the whole season? If that's the case then they might as well start working on trading Bosh. That couldn't possibly mean rebuilding around Bargnani. If that's the case then this team is going to be in Nets Wolves territory before too long.

They are not gonna completely rebuild anytime soon, in fact we haven't won shit so if anything we're in the middle of a rebuild. You can't rebuid something that's never been buit up, no?

I'd say if Bosh is S&T we'd be fine. But if he in the very unlikelyhood leaves without utilizes a S&T then we could be in a bit of trouble because their would be little money left to add assets to Bargnani/Hedo/Jose/Jack/Beli.

My prediction is that if Bosh leaves i'm 95% sure it'll be through a S&T and BC will get good value in return (two key players + draft picks).

What's wrong with Bargs? You guys forget that he still has more to learn. Last year at this time Bargs was a complete FAIL. Now he's evolved into a great scorer. I can see it in his confidence that he wants to be great, so he'll eventually play better D with time. Besides, Bargs is playing out of position he's not a Centre he's a Power Forward. Reshard Lewis played Pf for Orlando last year are you telling me he's a much better man to man defender than Bargs..... i didn't think so. We just need a Centre like D-Howard or Yao Ming and we'll have a defensive presence inside. Let's not forget that our interior defense breaks down because of penetration. Jose and Demar are to blame for the easy dunks and layups and uncontested threes.
