Default Bryan Colangelo ran the franchise into the ground

We had a first round pick. He drafted a bust. We traded TJ Ford for a washed up JO. We then traded JO for Marion who left and Marcus Banks who makes 5 mil for another 2 seasons. He gave Calderon who is the worst point guard defender and can't drive for 8-9 million for the next couple of years. He then gave Bags a 5 year 50 million deal who can't play defense or rebound. He invested 5 years 50 million for Turk who can't drive, shoot and play defense and is washing up like no tommorow. He had 4-5 years to rebuild this franchise and didn't do anything. What's worse is he has a core tied up in Hedo Calderon and Bags so theres no room for improvement in the future. He has essentially taken a franchise that was already in the rebuilding stages and ran it into the ground for the next 4-5 years. What a great job.

Is it wrong to say he did a poor job?

How is Bargs a bust? The only real decision I hate that BC made is giving Turk a 5 year contract of 50 mil. He's going to be 35 (I think) when he's off the books. 35.

i dont want to agree to this because i honestly felt he did a good job over the last couple of years, especially last off season when he brought these guys together.

but now if you look at it from today perspective and where the Raptors stand and where they're headed with the long term contracts, you can easily say he has failed. in the 4 seasons hes been here we really havent done anything to move forward really, other than being smacked up in the 1st round twice and soon thrice.

and looking forward, whether Bosh stays or leaves, this team is not contending the way its currently configure....sigh....

Bargs is not a bust at all.

But Turkoglu for 10 mil is up there for one of the worst contracts in the last 5 years. Jared Jeffries, T-mac (he was worth it at one time), Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, Jermaine O'neal by the end...

But i think it's safe to say Turkoglu may be per production Top 10 worst contracts of the last decade. One move that's running us into the ground. Terrible Terrible Terrible decision. Exactly what we didn't need. EXACTLY what we didn't need lol. *sigh*.

I wish we could send him to the D-league.

He can't rebound play defense and can't create his own offense. He's not exactly a bust but he will never live up to the first pick in the draft and he won't be an all star anytime soon.

It seems that BryCo is much better for getting something for nothing (Amir, Weems, Beli, etc.) and he struggles with his big-name acquisitions (JO, Hedo, etc.). Hes like a poor mans Joe Dumar

Bargnani is a NBA calibre player - he has his weaknesses and he has his strengths but he's no Olowokandi or Darko.

You're on the money with Turkoglu - dude has packed his bags and is just to collect checks.

I think we've gotta start 'Fire T-R-I-A-N-O' chants at the games so we can get rid of him.

Bargs aint a bust, he still gonna improve and hes gettin 10 mil which isnt bad. No one knew Turk would suck this much ass. Calderons contract is pretty bad though.

It's not entirely on Triano. This team just doesn't have the size or athleticism to defend these contenders. There's no weakside shot blocker, no one can drive to the rim. Bargnani doesn't have the size or athleticism to pick up rebounds or guard other players. Jose Calderon only shoots jumpshots. Bosh is forced to shoot jumpers because of the help defense. Derozan can't finish nor beat someone off the dribble or shoot the jumpshot. These are things that cannot be fixed by coaches. The players don't have the talent to contend which is why they will always stay mediocre.

Will he ever average 10+ rebounds per game which is normal for a star big man at his position or will he ever be a great man and help defender? Until he suddenly posses these qualities he's not helping the team out anytime soon.

No offensive rebounds because long shots=long boards. It's just his game.

BC may have done some choice moves in his tenure here in Toronto, but let me ask you this. Would you rather have Colangelo or Rob Babcock as the GM for the Raptors? Yeah, thats right.
