![]() After his draft day interview he said things like:
"Davis is just one piece of the puzzle" "You're gonna see a whole new roster in two weeks" (not knowing whether Bosh is staying or leaving, meaning other players i.e. cald, turk, expirings are most likely involved. "It's exciting to think about" If BC's excited thinking about it, that can only mean huge changes. "Our players have high trade value" Yeah, he said that, so you guys can't argue that Calderon and Turkoglu and Jack and others don't have serious value. In fact, we had 8-10 trades on the table, which we didn't pull the trigger on. So we're probably waiting for best deal we want. I've been daydreaming about the possibilities every single day for the past 2 months now, and it's exciting to see what's gonna happen. Here's my thinking: If we use our assets to put 4 very solid players around Weems, Derozan, Jack, Davis, Amir, Bargnani, Alabi we will be a very, very dangerous team. I personally don't want Bosh on this team. I think we all know what skills those players need to bring to the table. /rant P.S. Things are heating up, and once July 1st hits the intensity will be unreal. |

![]() i'm worried BC'll leave, just after the futur Bosh deal, to another franchise.
can he do a good job with the trade and rebuild, if he think leaving the chair ? |

![]() Well, if we can't be placated by the excitement of winning it all, at least we might as well enjoy the excitement of watching a whole new roster every year. I think that's almost as interesting as winning. Certainly, being a Toronto team, a whole lot easier to achieve!

One thing is for sure, Colangelo seemed upbeat at his press conferences, not in any way downcast. And clearly not just a front for the fans. It is in contrast to the end of last season when he looked like he just found out his daughter married a gangster.
He seems to have a few contingencies, not just playing it by ear. It just depended on the draft and then where Bosh settles. Should be interesting. |

![]() What BC says always ends up happening. So how can anyone not be excited? The guy is never wrong, never blows smoke up our collective ass, never spins the details to make himself look good. So - yeah, a team that looks pretty much like bottom feeders will do just splendidly.
The word that caught my attention with his repeated use, was "evolve". This team is apparently going to continue to evolve. I would maybe suggest that it appears to be devolving. I think they should play Jocko Homo for the player intros this season. |

![]() This guy is a PR guru and a corporate wag. He's been trained to spew all sorts of party line BS. I don't care what he says. After last season, I'm not going to swallow his hype pills. I'm not even going to care enough to be all that excited at the beginning of the season. I'll tune in to see the "evolution", but there's no way I'm convinced it's even happening until this team does something other than chuck shots and capitulate.

The only way that I give this guy ANY kudos at all is if Bosh is re-signed and a quality perimeter threat is brought in. Oh yeah, and Hedo had better be gone too. |

![]() What this team needs is to jettison Bosh, Hedo and Calderon in seperate deals, get back some young pieces and fall into the lottery next season and hope for a top-3 pick. That would be the fast track to success.

![]() Danny Ferry built a winning team for Lebron and look what happened. Ferry is gone, coach is gone and Lebron might be gone.
Who knows what's going on in these guys heads. It's not as simple as show me the money, nor is it about being on a winning team alone. There are a ton of factors these guys are weighing and we just have to wait and see how the chips fall. |

![]() Cleveland had a nice team, but they had the difficulty in finding that second option. Shaq was not the same Shaq that Wade and Kobe enjoyed. Mo Williams could only go so far. And Jamison was too little too late.
There needs to be a better business model in this league, so that real teams can be built, rather than a franchise guy with an assortment of role players around him. As can be seen in places like Cleveland - this league is a mess. As for the Raptors, they need to get noticeably better on defense and then look to make some noise a year or two or three from now. The question is whether there is any patience for that. I can't say I'm all that excited or even interested in that prospect. |
