Broussard: Bosh a Superstar Next Season?

Chris Broussard has been extremely impressed with Chris so far this summer at the Olympics. So much that he feels that Bosh might take his game to the next level next season so he could be possibly be considered a "Superstar".

Does he have it in him? :confused2:

If he improves defensively, instead of acting as a pylon, then yes I agree. If not, then I don't see it yet.

Gurk 08-14-2008 01:24 PM

That will be good if it happens

Belsius 08-14-2008 01:57 PM

he did two steals today to guards that really impressed me.

I view Bosh as a Superstar already nice of ESPN to confirm what Raptor fans should already know. I mean the guy is like a 3 time All Star now and is growing every year as far as his game goes.

That being said his experience in China should serve to help in get to yet another level for this upcoming season. I have always respected and enjoyed Chris Bosh as a player and person.

If by superstar you mean like 1st team all-nba or 1st team EC allstar, no.

Gurk 08-14-2008 04:46 PM

It could happen but the competion for 1st team all-nba is hard and a little to hard for Bosh

If healthy he's shown that he's a superstar already. Not healthy, and relied upon a little too much at times, and he can look far from it. JO could help in both those areas. A lot.

I agree with all of that well said:sport-smiley-017:

Let's hold the phone on the Superstar bill until he actually lifts the team out of the 1st round for once... I can't think of many Superstars who don't win in the playoffs.

I have seen plenty. Kevin Garnett for one. Allen Iverson misses the playoffs as much as he wins them. Tracey McGrady is thought to be a Superstar. Dirk had one good year. And there are a lot from the past.

Superstars don't win in the playoffs. Teams do. I don't see Lebron with a ring. And Kobe can taste Shaq's ass. Bosh can't take center stage like those guys, but he can and has taken center stage.

I dont know about superstar, but I think theres a very good chance that he could take his game to the next level like Dwight did last year

Iverson has been to the finals. He carried the 76ers to the finals. KG carried many a team past at least round one and both have posted huge numbers which eclipse Bosh's conservative showings.

LeBron carried his team to the friggin' finals. Totally carried them there...Kobe was in the finals this year. Kobe carried pathetic post Shaq teams into the playoffs out west and advanced.

Yeah, Bosh is the star of the Raptors by default so he was at "center stage". He carried them nowhere but home very early thought. As I said, lets wait until he does something in the playoffs, when it counts. If he can't do that then he's not superstar. sorry.

In my acceptance, a superstar has to:
- have a 1st team all-nba selection (or multiple selections to the 2nd and 3rd team)
- or seriously be in the running for MVP for more than one season
- or get his team to the finals (as the lead guy)
- or overhyped by the media because of huge offensive numbers (like carmelo anthony or gilbert arenas)

Bosh isn't a superstar yet - all he did so far is post solid numbers year after year - there are many players like him. I think this year he'll make the jump though, if he continues to play well at the olympics. Hopefully it will be deserved - and not just because of that.

not really - at least not before Boston ... I don't think they made the 2nd round more than twice with Minesotta.

again, not really - no lakers team made the 2nd round in the post-shaq era until last season.

Apollo 08-15-2008 03:37 PM

2nd round is "advancing".

LX 08-15-2008 03:44 PM

He was a superstar before they advanced.

Gurk 08-15-2008 05:04 PM

Yea if a player can drop 81 on a team they most likly are a superstar
