A brief thought about last night

Quote:
Despite 30 points from Chris Bosh and 21 from Jose Calderon, the Raptors had no answer for Golden State's run-and-gun offence.

Stephen Jackson had 30 points, Marco Belinelli had five three-pointers as part of his 23-point night and the Warriors shot 50 per cent from the field and buried Toronto under an avalanche of 12 three-pointers.

The Raptors, down 13 in the fourth quarter, clawed back within two with just over two minutes left but Jason Kapono missed three three-pointers, Anthony Parker missed one and Calderon missed another in some of the most untimely misses of the season.

last night, Chris Bosh had more 3 point shots than :

Statistical anomaly of the night?

Chris Bosh had as many three-pointers against the Warriors as Jose Calderon, Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani combined.
that is a pretty sad statement for the overall condition of this team. Most nights, Bosh or O'Neal have to carry this team and get very little help from any of the slugs we put at the 2 or 3 spot, which just seems to be the spots that kill us every night. When do we disband this team and start over?

i'm thinking it could be too late to try a tweak deal. the way we're playing, a tweak may not be enough.

soon it'll be draft (lottery) time. and we'll have the mle and lle to try and bring in talent.

but i think you're talking about a blow up. that's not out of the question. i have the feeling bc wants to try this team with a coach of his choosing first. that could negate the blowup.

as i have stated several times, giving BC a lottery pick scares the hell out of me! Jay is an NBA level coach, he is not the problem with this team as he can't hit those open shots the guys on the floor all missed though i am pretty confident he can still outshoot those guys most practise sessions... it must drive him nuts watching this team toss up brick after brick while giving up wide open shots all night long... either play offense or defense but this team WON'T play both consistently. after Chris Bosh and maybe Jose Calderon, who would you keep? I am trying to understand salary caps and all that shit, but all that stuff doesn't make this team better! sigh

you can't really rebuild trading your junk for others'.

our "valuable" players are essentially cb, jose, jo, and maybe bargs. moving Bargs now is selling low. i'd be against it as i don't think the return will be worthwhile. to really improve the team via trade we'd need to move one of the big three. otherwise we have to hope for an absolute homerun on a "sideways" trade.

i understand people's nervousness of bc's drafting given the results thusfar: bargnani, tucker, jawai. but i really hope he doesn't trade the pick which is pretty probably to lube a trade.

We should trade Jose for a decent PG and a decent wing. Since we'll most likely be in the lottery we can trade that pick on draft day for some players. and I guesss start over next year

The thing about rebuilding through the draft is that at the rate this team is going, we're only really going to see the Raptors get a middle of the pack first round pick. We'll land a good player no doubt, but a player to rebuild around? Chances are no. Unless the team tanks which I don't really see happening. The Raps aren't good, but they're definitely not awful.
For this team to rebuild through the draft it's going to have to trade a Bosh or an O'Neal. To be honest if the Raps are going to rebuild that has to happen anyway, so BC would essentially be killing two birds with one stone.
