Default Brian Colangelo; Genius or Moron?

He had made some pretty slyck moves, but not acquiring defensive players and signing triano to an extension was the mistake he did.

Is it excusable? Because I got a b and c, we suck at d e f g h...

Someone mind explaining just what the hell mlse is and what it has to do with the raptors?

thanks

definitely not the 2nd and there are no geniouses in basketball (in the true sense of the word at least), they tend to specialize in quantum physics instead

imo he's a good GM - he made mistakes, but this summer hasn't been kind to "good" GMs. Portland has it even worse, Detroit is very bad shape and SAS is not doing all that great either.

He made some great moves, but i think he was ignoring that we needed defence. Not much he could do. Also players arent trying like Bargs and turk. Bench their asses if u have to. amir and belli are playing better than those 2 anyways.

The fact is we improved on paper defensively with guys like Wright, Jack, Evans, Johnson suopposedly. And when you look at the team last season this should be a better defensive team thaen that team other then AP. Too bad this team isn't playing for the coach and aren't buying into the system.

To answer your question though, NEITHER. He isn't a genius or a moron. He's a very good GM that imo did everything he could this summer to improve this team and did. Too bad he hired the wrong coach.

everybody who could have been in the NBA in any shape or form but specialises in quantum physics instead is a MORON

I dont' think you blame BC for this. He hasn't built a championship team yet, but this should be a good winning team. He did acquire defensive players as mentioned, but the team's struggles are mental now. Just look at their 3pt percentages lately...this team is better than 2 for 10, 2 for 20. They're missing because their minds aren't right. They're not defending at even a d league level right now due to effort and concentration.

Jeffb let's hit up a Raps game and start a 'F-I-R-E T-R-I-A-N-O' chants. It worked in New York when they wanted Chaney outta there.

Evans will make a difference but the not the kind that is needed in my opinion.

One of the biggest mistakes that BC made was giving Turks that kind of money, I really hated that deal since he signed it.

He took a chance in almost completely mixing it up. I'd rather that over minor changes to stay in mediocrity.

The fact is, he upgraded the depth at every position. Yet this team is just not meshing or buying into the team's coaching philosophy. He couldn't have done more this summer then he did.

yeah the fact that some you guys thought we would make it past the 1st round of the playoffs says something. Maybe this calls for a bump lol...

BC sucks, I've hated him since the Andrea pick. Not to mention the O'neal to Marion trade where we gave up way to much and we're still stuck with Banks.
The Turk trade was stupid, but it was an honest mistake.. Triano was a big mistake though, he should swallow his pride and make the necessary changes.

Colangelo has made some terrible trades in his past, but plenty of great ones.

When he traded away Charlie V for TJ ford? BONEHEAD

I to this day don't understand why anyone would have a problem with that one. At the time we nedded a PG more then anything and CV has turned out to be an inconsistent player who's lazy most of the time. At the time it was a solid move that needed to be made.

I agree... But i still wish they had to draft Aldridge over Bargs.... or just had kept R. Hibbert out of that O'Neal trade somehow... But what we have right now is a team full of guys that somehow need a coach to bring them together and get them playing with intensity every night.

we wouldn't have drafted hibbert, and hibbert is not good player anyway, he would be our 4th big - not a huge deal. And Bargnani will have a better career than aldridge.

I think the decision to go with Triano could stick to him like a really bad stink.

I agree completely. It's the only thing this summer that i really questioned. He did everything he could this summer to bring in players, even trying to bring in Ariza apparently, but this Triano move is gonna linger.
