Whatever man, Derozan was WIDE OPEN for one of the highest percentage shots in NBA basketball. He wasn't rushed. He just sucked.

Ya and when he was driving the the rim, he was just jumping into the body of a defender with his hands up hoping for a call. Not gonna get calls like that.

well maybe so, but I think he tried hard... just wasnt getting the calls last night. I'm just saying, he' a starting "star" SG, giving him a corner three is NOT a bad idea.

That said, I wish Calderon was just as greedy as the rest of them, he'd be dropping 20+ a game easy.

Val - I like what I see, I wasn't a fan of this draft pick, but I must admit I like what I see. The guy is raw, but in a good way, he looks like a great teammate, runs to help out players who are on the floor, plays hard on D, gets rebounds and tough as nails. The guy is only 19 and deserves some credit. I honestly think he will be our X factor this season, and he has a shot to be the ROTY - but since he plays in Canada chances are slim.
Mighty mouse won ROY with us. in this case i believe the best player gets it.

Calderon really only gets open shots when other scorers are keeping the heat off him. He'd never score a basket if he was properly defended one on one. He's just too slow.

How DD doesn't get to the line once was criminal. The refs just had it in for him. If he gets 3 FTs in the game we probably win.

I think Casey needs to leave one of Lowry or Bargs in at all times(or Derozan if his offence has improved as much as people say). We cant just have Jose running screen roll for 7-8 minutes straight because we have no creators on the wing, and Jose cant penetrate well enough to get them wide open looks. It kills our flow and our defence suffers as well because of the lack of energy.

And I think Ross needs to be playing over Lucas and Anderson. We need a good shooting wing who can play defence. He needs to find his rhythm and stroke on offence, and playing him 4 minutes a game wont do that. He'll be exrtemely valuable if we get him to a point where he can play 15-20 mpg comfortably where hes not hurting the team because he may end up becoming our best wing defender sooner rather than later, and if his stroke is that good then we have a very nice option there. And who knows, he may even end up starting if he gets some confidence since Fields sucks.
Play Ross with Anderson. Play Fields with Kleiza. Play DeRozan as the smallball SF when Jose and Lucas are on the court. :cookie:

It was an end of the clock situation, and he had a defender coming at him. Jose had nobody near him and could have shot in rhythm. Surely you know that you don't give up a good shot for a lesser chance.

Anyway, I forgot to mention my biggest problem with Jose playing off Lowry to end games. It means DeRozan plays SF, which could work some nights, but it's not ideal. If DD is going to play the 3, I'd rather see him make the shift to allow Lucas or Ross play the 2. It just makes for more of a muddle. I love Jose playing as a backup pg. it's a great role for him as long as he can stop leaving his feet to make a pass. Stick with that role. And make it a little easier for others to establish their roles.

Missed opportunity. No moral victory. You cannot afford to lose to a conference team at home - home opener, no less - that is playing without Granger. Especially whe you had them down.

End of analysis.

that lineup with lucas in the 4th was so frustrating to watch. Reminded me of going to the 09 Raps games & watching the give 15 point leads up and lose by 15.

We saw a lot of 2 PG lineups due to the matter that we have shooting guards who can't shoot.

agreed, our best SG is jose, LOL!
i think the lowry/jose combo works, but a PG combo with lucas struggles
in a lucas PG combo he's way too small to play the SG so he has to play the PG but then he can't or just doesn't pass so you don't get the benefits of the shooting ability of lowry/jose
if they use lucas in games he's got to come in with a pretty random group of players where he is the PG that will just shoot and everyone else on the court looks for the rebounds, he would fit well with guys like amir and ed who can just crash the boards why lucas shoots
the other PGs need to play off the other players on the court, they need the set plays and use their ability to pass to other players, jose more than lowry of course

Well said. I just think it's so sad that Casey is forced into using a 2 PG backcourt.

I really like Lowry playing with Jose. They both compliment each other. You got to see the floor open up with a good shooter on the floor. With threat of Jose shooting the 3 it made it easier for Lowry to attack the rim. They feed of each other. As good as Loery is and i really like what he brings to the table.....you can really see how big Jose is for our team. It was great to hear the ACC charge it up when Jose was introduced....by far the loudest cheers of the night go to Jose !!!!
