So yes, he is.

HOWEVER, this is about he and Derozan playing together. And honestly, if thats your 1-2 guard combo...you ain't ever winning.

I'd rather see Derozan go that way.... I still don't know who they have I'd want.... lemme go look at their roster.
But how do you know for certain that we will never win with a Jennings-DeRozan back court? They are both still developing players, and to let them develop as teammates would be an amazing chemistry boost to an already existing chemistry. (Don't forget Brandon and DeMar played ball together before the NBA, and remain friends)

I think a starting back court of Jennings and DeRozan is a winning formula provided you work on the rest of the team.

being friends is overrated when it comes to chemistry

but i agree with your last point about the 2 being a winning formula in the backcourt, that is provided the other starting 3 are allstars and the 2 of them are the "weak links" in the starting 5

Take a look at who we have on the fucking team right now and name one back court player thats clear cut better than Jennings.

We are in no position to pass on a star point guard especially considering Jose is only getting older, and there is no point guard prospect in our draft range.

I'm not saying we have to get Brandon, but to simply pass without attempting after a player of his caliber expresses interest? That's sheer stupidity.
Hedo expressed interest in playing here... how did that turn out?

Melo wanted to go to N.Y. and was "clearly better" than any SF on NYK's roster.... how'd that turn out?

The only PG in the league who shoots it more than Jennings is Westbrook.... but I think it's safe to say that Westbrook is the better player overall.

I'll put it this way.... if he's willing to come over and accept a reasonable contract and run the offense then I'm all for it.... but if he wants to come over here to get a max (or near max) contract and shoot the ball 20+ times/gm then no thanks.

Not a fan. I'd much rather look to Andre Miller this offseason TBH.

This whole thread is silly lol. Jennings said he would like to come from TO if he had to pick - and he's from California 'and I'm good' he says. How did that translate into he wanted to play for the Raps? Or wishes he was from TO as the thread title says? Fuck me, unbelievable lmao

Really don't need to see him shooting the ball 30 times/gm here.

Not enough "PG skills" from what I've seen thus far.
You're worried about a lack of "PG skills" and him shooting to much? That surprises me since on multiple occasions you said you would be okay with, and actually like, Monta Ellis playing point guard in Toronto. At the time that you said that, Ellis had not shown many "PG skills", and he was shooting the ball a lot.

Personally, my concern with Jennings is his jumper. His first two years in the league it was shit. So far this year, it looks a little better. But I'd like to see if he could sustain it for a full season. If he develops a consisent jumper, he could be a very difficult player to guard.

He turns 36 in two months.

Awesome.

Maybe we get one good season out him, if we're lucky. He's the kind of player that helps contender, not the Raps, who are looking for a PG of the future. Might as well just role with Jose if you're going to play a vet.

Oh please. Hedo was never interested in the Raptors as an organization. He just wanted the money.

DeRozan isn't part of any winning formula.

I'm not sure Jennings would be an ideal backup so let's move on.

i love how before this season every body was booing AB for his lack of play. now that he us playing well (not better rebounder, but still better) we focus our anger on DD because he isn't producuing like we would want to.

funny how last season, every body would touch DD because he was the futur of the franchise... and now he can even be a role player here.

are you fan of luxe .
because we can afford to bring here star player, so we must be patient with ours youngs ones.
DD and jennings know each other since kindergarden, and DD"s father say that BJ was like a son to them.
so yeah i think when you can have a backourt of two player whom know each oither so well, you will gain in power, chemistry, pass abilities in the backcourt.

BJ is a 20ppg/6apg guy pair with DD (last season - 18ppg) and Barg (23ppg). i think your starting unit can put some number. and as for our second unit, that doesn't change anything.

jennings
DD/barbosa
JJ/1st2012
Bargs/kleiza
JV/amir

You're preaching to the choir. I agree. But it's still rare enough for a player to choose us over a playoff team... even if dollars were the main concern. I do think that he liked the city though.

Nah man. I was assuming that Jose would be gone. I wouldn't mind seeing Miller here if he could be had for an MLE-type contract.

I meant either move barnes of gilchrist to SF haha, and whats wrong with dd at the 3, an experiment through season tank wouldnt hurt, but next year no. There are no good SG in this draft.
