Default Both Bobcats & Warriors Interested in Bargnani

Take it for what its worth because its coming from the Bleacher Report, but not surprising that both teams with all the trade talk would want Andrea in return.

Still a risk I'm willing to take.

i'm not saying i'm for it, but if there was ever a time to trade Bargs it would be now.
he's playing very well, and you can see how much potential the kid has.
his stock is the highest its been since his first year, imo.

Default A 7 footer is always tradable. Why rush?

He will not be worse than what he is right now unless he is injured badly. He will probably get better in time. Would Jazz trade Okur for Bargnani? Probably not. So why trade a guy who will become as good as or better than Okur for someone going down the hill in his career like Harrington etc?

The person that should be traded from this team is.. errr Sam Mitchell? lol maybe Mitchell+Kapono would be a goood package.

lol at andreea for harrington ... that's a good one. Harrington was signed by Indiana with MLE, which would make this trade similar to waving Bargnani for cap-space purposes and signing somebody like Posey with our MLE.

it only makes sense to trade Bargnani for somebody that makes a lot more than MLE ...

Less is more. More or less. But mostly less. Or should that be more?

If he refuses to play inside the arc like he is starting to do again, then I say let him go, but he should get something more back in return. Of course that will require packaging Kapono or something as well.

And the quote from the article is taken directly from Grange, along with the information involved, so it's nothing all that new.

trading Bargs only adds to the starting lineup which isn't necessarily what is killing the team, it also makes the bench basically kapono, moon and nobody and also makes hump the best big man off the bench which means there's no big men off the bench
i don't see how that makes things better???
because of the short roster we have we cannot be giving away our useful players unless we are getting more useful players back in return, swapping 1 good for 1 good won't do us any good

I don't like either trade straight up Bargs for either Wallace or Harrington. Offensively Wallace is better than Harrington, but I don't like his contract especially with 2010 on the horizon. A trade for Harringon doesn't make any sense at all. Either of those player minus Andrea does not make the Raptors any better imo. At least not significantly.

I wouldn't trade Bargs because we would have no quality back up C or PF. The Raps can still trade Moon, Kapono or Graham.

If I'm trading Bargs, I need a VERY good wing player in return. I wouldn't just trade him for Harrington - who's a FA at the end of the seaspn. Wallace is alright, but I don't see him putting us over the top. We need something bigger than that.

And Andrea is going to score us that big catch? I don't what player some of you have been watching, but Bargnani's not going to get us that big piece. A Wallace or Harrington? Definitely, but nothing much better than either of them.

I just dpnt see how these deals would workout for us. Our depth would certainly take a big blow at the PF and C, so what happens if JO or Bosh go down

If everyone is banking on potential, I'd want something bigger, but in the grand scheme of things, I'd prefer to ship him to Golden State for 2 reasons

1. We'd only see him 2 times a year
2. Harrington's contract runs out in time for 2010 = more cap space.

If Colangelo was going to rush to move Bargnani he would have done it already and I don't think Al Harrington or Gerald Wallace are the right answers to me. If you are going to trade Bargnani you better get you dream small forward in return and based on his salary you can't get that guy. So I am not buying into these rumours if Bargnani is going the other way.

I remember there used to be criticism about Gerald Wallace and Turkoglu as well about their inconsistency and whether they can "make it" in the NBA and now they are both solid players that many teams covet

I say keep Bargnani - I believe he will still blossom into a solid NBA player if only we have the patience
