Default Bosh To Stay Next Season?

With the summer of 2010 fast approaching, and a lot of Hot Free Agents available,

Do you think Fellow Raptor Fans that Chris Bosh will stay with the Raptors beyond next season?

And maybe Bryan Colangelo could add another Superstar?

say Joe Johnson or Michael Redd etc

Please post your Comments below

Thanks!

Ask again in May.

If we finish the season strong and have a good showing, he stays. If we struggle down the stretch and get knocked out in 5 games in the 1st round all bets are off.

He hasn't made his mind up yet imo.

I'll say:

60% stays

40% He leaves

I hope so man, Im not sure how much "Cap" we have for next season available, but Im sure that there will be some available, Bosh will take some up / if its a max contract anyway, so im not sure how much there would be left for other players, but AI or JJ would be so cool

IF we compete well in the Playoffs, AND our team is upgraded for sure in the off-season, and I don't mean a minimal upgrade, then he will stay.

Otherwise, I don't see the point.

If the Raptors get atleast 44 wins and pass the first round HE WILL STAY.

If the Raptors get less than 41 wins and get pretty much sweeped in the playoffs like with Orlando, he will leave and I surely don't blame him. He's put his blood and sweat into this team for years now, with nothing much to show for it but an atlantic title that didn't mean anything in the playoffs.

Think about it, Everyone, exlcuding Bosh and Darko, from the top picks(#1-5) of the 2003 draft have had a great amount of success with their teams(not to mention individual awards), as you can see here:

#1: Lebron James - In 2005-2006(50 wins), James reached the second round and lost in seven games.
In 2006-2007(50 wins), the Cavaliers advanced to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1992 and to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
In 2007-2008(45 wins), James reached the second round and lost in seven games.
In 2008-2009(66 wins), James won the MVP award and reached the Eastern Conference finals and lost.

#3: Carmelo Anthony - In 2007-2008, Anthony had a 50 win season with Denver.
In 2008-2009(53 wins), Denver advanced to the West Conference finals and lost.

#5: Dwayne Wade - In 2003-2004(42 wins), Wade reached the second round and lost.
In 2004-2005(59 wins), Wade advanced to the East Conference finals and lost.
In 2005-2006(52 wins), The Heat won the Championship and Wade was given Finals MVP honours.

AND Bosh - In 2006,2007(48 wins), Bosh lead Toronto to an Atlantic Division Title. They lost in the first round in six games.

Bosh's first priority to me is winning now. He's not getting any younger.

They need playoff success, and he needs to be offered the max.

If he and his teammates come up lame and don't look competitive in the playoffs, or he isn't offered what he is worth, I think he'll go.

Barkley said you only offer MAX contracts (to retain a player) if you're a contending team, are the Raps one?

Surprisingly enough Charles Barkley isn't right 100% of the time. The Raptors are far from a contending team with or without Bosh, but they're closer to ping pong balls without Bosh. Does BC & Co. want to have to go through another rebuilding phase? Does BC & Co. do everything they can to keep Bosh and avoid the doldrums? Yeee.

Depends what else they do this summer. With the right move or two + Bosh, they could be. BC didn't come here to float around .500 and be knocked out of the 1st round for the next 10 years. IMO this summer will be the begining of him starting to go for more, make his move if you will. Bosh will stay if the right plan is put in place.

That's why I love BC. He's the best. He gives it all hes got and is focused on the idea of making the Raptors a contender. He knows the large fanbase deserves it from over the years.

I think Bosh is another type of MAX free agent... You cannot compare him to James or Wade or Carmello.. What Bosh brings to each game is very worthy of max contract in his position.. Talking about success of the other 3 players.. Bosh cannot dribble up n down the court by himself n drive through the lane n dunk/layup like any of those 3 can. Sorry if I didnt make any sense lol

perfect sense.

He's a very important piece to this team, as he is the only real threat in the paint considering the majority of the team are jumpshooters
