Default Bosh Shrugs Off 2010 Talk

Source: RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Bosh Again Shrugs Off 2010 Talk

Quote:
Chris Bosh has heard his name in persistent trade talks for the first time in his career, and is still getting used to the attention.

"Yeah, I've heard it. It's weird. It's really, really weird," Bosh told the Toronto Star. "I just have never been involved in that before (but) I understand it's part of the business, especially with everything happening.

"I know this next year is really going to be a roller-coaster because of the speculation and everything. This year was a lot but next year? I can only imagine."

Bosh also contends that he isn't worried about the summer of 2010, when he is expected to hit the free agent market.

"Until that happens, I can't sit here and dwell on it. You just go out there and do what you're supposed to do and worry about stuff when it happens," Bosh added.

well at least he isnt letting his contract situation get to him, most players would either demand to be traded or signed for a LOT of money, regardless if they were worth it or not. good for him

Is there any chance that he signs a contract this summer?

He seems pretty confident about being here next season. I just hope he doesn't pull a TMac and be wishy washy this summer and then bolt in 2010. I really hope BC can be objective and really read between the lines to what ever CB says this summer. Because if he's non commital then you might have to sign-trade him. I believe that Bosh is a good guy and won't be dishonest, but i have a feeling he's nowhere near any kind of decision on staying or going.Which is gonna place Colangelo in a very tough position.

Nope! I do think that he can, in a sign-trade scenario. But otherwise i don't think he can sign an extension this summer.

Like when u say he can't you mean like actually can't in terms of cap space or B.C just won't sign him.

I think that it's too early in his contract to sign an extension. I'm not sure though about the reason, either that or cap space issues. Either way though i heard Coloangelo say they can't extend him this summer.

Is this right?

If they can extend his contract to trade him, shouldn't they be able to extend his contract and keep him?
