Bosh selling Toronto to the world

Quote:
Chris Bosh is supremely confident in his basketball ability and he's equally sure of himself as a salesman.

With incessant chatter about Bosh leaving the Raptors as a free agent this summer – although never from him – he said Friday he'd like a shot at attracting someone to Toronto.

"Come visit me for a weekend and then we'll talk later," he said when asked what his sales pitch would be.

But Bosh was coy when asked to describe that weekend. "Ah, go to the museums, go to the park, go out to eat, go get some shots up."

Bosh has been a big promoter of Toronto in the last couple of years and said earlier this season he feels "at home" when he comes back to his adopted hometown.

He just wishes it wasn't so hard to get major recognition for the team or the city. "It gets forgotten all the time, I don't think it's that much of a secret," he said "We don't have any national games in the States, we don't get as much attention as other teams do. I mean, we're rolling right now and I don't think anybody really knows it.

And really, this is why I see him hear.

Think about it, he's actually not a bad promoter and enjoy doing his Youtube videos and DVDs.

I think he enjoys the challenge of a. on the court trying to create and make this team a winner and b. in the off season promoting himself and his team.

I'm really, really having a hard time seeing him leave.

Ya like this year it hardly even snow at all; and I think the coldest it got this year was like -18 as to compare to previous year -40. And Fan base we are way more better then those Americans. Like the Canadian national anthem my 2 favorite line: "True patriot love in all thy sons command" and "God keep our land glorious and free!"; really how can you not like Canada for this?

Players don't help though. Derozan was asked Friday in Dallas what has surprised him the most about playing Toronto, waht did he say...."The Weather, man it's cold. And i'm told it's been warmer this winter, but i don't know".

Nice!!!

The fact is, has he not been to Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Indiana this season so far? Fuck we're not Minnesota.

Selling Toronto might ease the mind of the player(s) coming back in the S & T.

He knew it was going to be cold, but it's still a shock to the system. And even though you prepare for it, it's still surprising to you when you first experience it. I did my undergrad in Sudbury and even though I knew it was going to be cold and snowy, it was surprising to experience it/when you first go through it, simply because you're not accustomed to it. I'm sure that's what he meant.

that was all he said?

for shame.

I know he's young and maybe a bit overwhelmed by the scale of the event, but that's really dissapointing to here.

Something to think about. The southernmost part of Ontario is on the same parallel as the California/Oregon border. We are what 5 hours northeast of Windsor. I am not even sure we are the northernmost team in the NBA.

I think Minnesota and Milwaukee are more northern than us.

Every time I hear Demar speak, i think of Carter 2.0.

He'll be great while he's here but the first chance he has to get out, he will.

Somehow Demar strikes me as kind of a prick. But hey, I hope I'm wrong...
