Default Bosh, a First Class "Nancy"?

One of the more popular Lakers blogs out there called "Forum Blue & Gold" had this to say about Chris a his contributions leading up the the Olympics games so far.

I’m not sure how many times he is going to drop a perfect pass before Coach K goes with Boozer over Bosh. I hate Bosh and hate him even more because Chandler should be on the team, not him. To boot, he sucks on defense and makes terrible decisions on the pick and roll (consistently gets screened and then guards no one as his guy rolls to the basket forcing the other players to rotate, leaving someone open). The only positive thing I have to say about Bosh is that he hits his free throws, unlike the rest of the team. I’m telling you right now, if Bosh gets major minutes once the elimination games start, we will lose.

I just read the entire thing.

That's a bit harsh, but the guy really has nothing nice to say about anybody.

He thinks Chandler should be there and not Howard too.

Opinions are like assholes though - everybody's got one and most of them stink.

If CB4 played for an American NBA team this asshole would probably be finding something else to bitch about. He sounds like a Nancy himself.

He has to make excuses in case U.S loses because he wouldn't want his boy Kobe taking any heat for it right? Besides what the hell does a laker fan know about Chris Bosh he likely sees him play 3 times a year and one of those in in an all-star game.

I could care less. I want the Americans to lose anyway. The only thing of interest would be any carry over to the NBA season...

Wow, what a revelation, Bosh is soft. You didnt know that? He isnt a great rebounder, he isnt a great defender. He finishes OK around the rim tho, i dont agree with that part, the rest is mostly true, Bosh is a really good player, not a great one, 2nd tier allstar for life.

Let me add, that being tough, isnt really something that comes with age, you are or you arent, and from his actions and his talk last year about not wanting to be that kind of player, he just isnt tough, he works hard tho, he definately hustles. Almost all the greats had a mean streak in them, i really cant think of many that didnt, Bosh definately doesnt.

Yeah, because listing the above mentioned players means something and no one at age 24 has a prayer in hell of improving and becoming a more prolific player.

He may be right in ways, but it is likely that the only games that he has seen of Bosh are the exhibition Olympic games, and four fifteen minutes-per-game performances where he isn't giving his all is not enough to judge him as a "nancy." He really needs to see more games before he judges one of the better power forwards in the league.

Not to mention that Bosh classically has struggled to be consistent when he's been delegated to role player.

he has a point about him not catching some easy passes, I've seen it at least of couple of times in the friendlies. But it's probably due to lack of concentration, since he's not usually like that in the NBA.

He has some valid points, but I think he's way off on others. Bosh's jumping ability is decent and more than that, he's quick off the ground, which allows him to get some blocks. He's not getting blocks by outjumping guys, he's timing it and getting off the ground quicker than people think. Bosh's D is improving and as he gets more confidence playing against the big men, he'll continue to finish strong on the offensive end.

Vertical Jump Not a Priority for NBA's All-Time Top 50 Players

There is no debate over the fact that fundamentals skills have eroded slowly over the past 25 years. The Michael Jordan era ushered in a new individual style of play. Instead of pivoting, shooting, cutting, passing, and defending, young players focused on a different set of skills. A thorough analysis of the NBA's All-Time Top 50 players make one thing crystal clear; the best players ever were dedicated to the game's fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and shooting. And they loved the game.
Ezine @rticles

This guy makes a great point. Fundamentals are the most important thing and Bosh has those. Thats why for the most part he's been really consistent.

Paul, James and Melo never get rave reviews on their defense. None of them are "tough" in that light. Now if you go with the train of thought that they're not scared of contact then you can include Bosh with them.

I'm not saying Bosh is one of the toughest guys in the league but I am saying that half the guys you mentioned aren't known for that either.
