Default Bosh on ESPN Radio

The one guy is Eric Smith's vocal doppleganger.

Quote:
Q: What's your attitude about sharing information with friends in the league who are going to be free agents?

A: Well to be honest, everybody's laying low... Nobody's really talking in-depth. It seems like it's a poker game and nobody's folding, you can't see their cards... There hasn't (yet) been too much talk about it.

Q: Is a sign and trade something you'd consider or are you thinking you're just going to end up walking away or what kind of chance does Toronto have...?

A: ... I'm kinda just testing free agency... like Lebron says, pretty much testing free agency. You look at every situation closely, and see which situation best fits you. Toronto will have certain advantages over other teams and other teams will have certain advantages over Toronto, and it's kinda just what works better for me?

It may be wishful thinking on my part but...

I read from this text that opting out and going to FA market has only one goal - to stay with TO for max money (and being center of attention meanwhile).

Why wouldn't Bosh just sign an extension then? The money is a little bit more by like 2 or 3 mill I think and he can end all of the craziness. I think he's going to stay once he realizes that only New jersey is willing to give him the option of being the #1, and while enticing with Devin Harris and Brook Lopez, New jersey sucks.

NJ does have Sam Mitchell, which might have been one reason for making that hire.

The reason why he didn't sign earlier? The same reason neither Wade nor Lebron did. As long as there is the chance to be part of something monumental together none of them are going to want to be the one to shut the door on that for the others, let alone themselves.

I would also go by his word - he said he wasn't going to think about it during the season - that he was setting it all aside for after the season was over. And that's hardly a bad approach. If he was playing for a legitimate contender, then there wouldn't be much to think about, and he could have signed earlier.

It actually wouldn't surprise me right now if him and LeBron decide to stay in Cleveland and Toronto.

I think they're having fun doing what they're doing, creating and being part of the spectacle. However, I do think at the end of the day they'll both end up re-signing. The market will be dictated more by the Amare's, Joe Johnson's and Boozer.

Listening to the radio this morning and people are all bent out of shape because of these comments. This city has become a city of whiners imo. WTF is wrong with what he's saying here?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what he said nor with him leaving the Raptors, no matter what kind of exit he chooses. People in Toronto need to look closely at the definition of a term "free agency" and stop being possessive girlfriends.

As far as him getting the max - we'll see. I am more and more intrigued about the idea of him, LeBron and Wade getting together in Miami for equal money (about 14 mil/year to start). If they do that, they'd actually show a willingness to sacrifice money for winning (if one might call such a salary a monetary sacrifice).

I agree with you on the jilted lover mania in Toronto its simply business.
But disagree Bosh will never go for less than MAX simply because he doesn't have the endorsement potential that Wade and LBJ have.

In fact he will likely make less than he would in Canada.

The issue I have with it all, is their insistence that they need to see what's out there.... everybody knows what teams are out there chasing FA's... it's not like it hasn't been overdone. They should stop pretending they need to explore their options, because everybody knows the options.... I could care less either way, just tired of hearing "I haven't thought about it" or "I need to focus"... kind of cop-outs.... Is their life really that crazy wild? They've been to every city, they've seen every player... man up and take the time to think about it and make a decision and stop whoring for attention... lol.

I could care less really, but I'd rather hear more about how Liam switched teams... lol... jokes
