Exclamation Bosh Discovers Fire

"We have to realize nice guys sit at home and watch the playoffs," Bosh said. "That's just how I feel. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you play with more intensity you're more likely to win and you're more likely to play better basketball."

Bosh backed that up in a face-to-face exchange with Minnesota's Brian Cardinal after being fouled on a first-quarter drive to the basket. Both players were called for technicals afterward.

"I don't accept people yelling in my face," Bosh said. "I don't do that to other people so I expect the same thing in return. I'm going to turn it up and, if guys do that, I hope they're ready to handle where it's going to go."

Minnesota coach Kevin McHale felt too much was made of the incident.

"In our league if two guys aren't kissing it's an altercation," McHale said. "There's no altercations anymore. Go back 30 years and you'll see some altercations."

and here

the way Bosh played last night for the most part is what we need from him. That was vintage Bosh last night where he kept attacking and attacking.

i also thought too much was being made of it. Cardinal was the aggresor, Bosh said a few words and then walked away. While i'm happy that Bosh didn't cower from the get go, it wasn't like he got all tough and mean like KG for a second. The whole thing was pretty tame.

and Jack made a good point. What happens when Kevin Garnett does that not Brian Cardinal?

Although i should say one thing that made me smile later.. a few plays after, Bosh bumped Cardinal causing him to fall down (although it looked like he took a dive). that was nice.

McHale is right, but his former coach challenged him to be like this last year and he publically pooh-poohed the notion. Oh well, I guess better later than never.

Bosh was fired up because the team was laying another egg. I dont buy that this is some new attitude.

Let's see it next game when Richardson starts pwning him.

PS. Bargs drive and crazy ass slam dunk was a better display of pride.

What you are just figuring this out NOW Chris?

I'm sorry, this is just more blah blah blah

You either have that fire deep down or you don't. If you need someone on the opposition to get you fired up to play physical and get in THEIR face, you aren't a real competitor.

Bosh you got your flame lit for one game, but it will be back to your old self next game buddy.

Good that he didn't get tough and mean like KG because KG is a P - U - S- S -Y. I don't remember him getting really tough and mean except for the facial expression. And every time he did it to the wrong guy he got spanked like a baby. (reference: Anthony Peeler elbow to KG's head; 'Wolves vs Kings in play-offs). And one training camp he punched a rookie and knocked him out instantly.... the reason was he blew right by him two times in a row. WTF? I'M KG! CAN'T DO THAT PUNK!

Nice video.

Like I said before, if I was going around one of his screens where he slides his leg out (but somehow doesn't get called for a moving screen), I would kick him so fucking hard in the shin that future generations of Garnetts would be born with bruised shins.

KG credits his mental toughness and work ethic to...... a really hard working, savvy vet in the Minny days, named Sam Mitchell.

I'd kick him in to balls so he can forget about the future generations of Garnetts.

hey i didn't say i like Garnett or that i want Bosh to be like him.... i'm just saying that the incident in question wasn't as "firey" as the article suggests.
