Default Bosh is Back With a Vengeance!

Nine points in only eleven minutes. He had a trey, a block and seven rebounds, two were offensive boards. Jay said he was spot on, on all his defensive coverages and Doug Smith mentioned that he was moving the ball quicker if there wasn't an immediate shot. That's so key to our offence this year if he does that. Teams had way to much time to set up defensive coverages last year with his 5 second bouts of indecision while holding on to the ball at the top of the key. The whole offence would bog down and everyone would end up just standing around waiting to see what he would do next. That's way to individualistic and not enough team.

Chris also mentioned he planned on staying on the offensive boards a whole lot longer this year than he had in the past. He wants his rebounds to go up and if he does certainly his points will. This absolutely should be a primary strategy by the Raps this season. With Turk usually at the top of the key and first man back, as well as Bargnani often being back as well, they can absolutely afford to have Chris stay engaged on the offensive boards until all offensive shots are rebounded by someone. This could produce alot of easy extra points this season and make him significantly more valuable. Turk's numbers may not improve much this season, but his playmaking value and intangibles should help Chris finally achieve his monster season! Bosh and Bargs could very well become the talk of the league, this season.

Cant say I was surprised either.

Against Jefferson in preseason action Bosh had 9 points, I'll be happier when he does it in the regular season again.

I think Bosh has a nice looking three. It hits the rim nice and soft, and when he doesn't have time to think "I shouldn't be playing out here", he almost always hits nothing but the twine.

If Bargnani can shoot them, why not Bosh.

Glad to hear Bosh wants to attack the Oboards more often. The Bosh/Bargs combo needs someone to get after it inside. This should help make up for Bargnani's lack of rebounding, but Bargs still needs to increase his rebs. Also happy to hear that Bosh recog. that he needs to make better/quicker decisions when he has the ball. Not a fan of Bosh taking 3's either, however if it's there he should take it. We will see how this all plays out during the reg. season esp versus better comp [Celtics/Cavs etc.]

I can agree with you on that one, not exactly what we need when you allready have two other perimeter forwards who use the trey as one of their main weapons.

However, it might surprise many that Chris was a darn good three point shooter in college, so it use to be a big part of his game. He shot about 48% from the three on over 46 attempts. So it really isn't a fluke when he actually hits from out there. Still though we need at least one of our bigs concentrating their game on 15 feet and in.

if Bosh is shooting above 40% on 3's he should shoot, another weapon in his arsenal
as long as he mixes it up I'm fine with it

we've all seen chris step-out and take a three pointer. it's no biggie. if the defence is giving it to him, i have no problem with him taking it. once the defence stops giving it to him, all the better.

It's only one game. And it was a pre-season game. Oh, and it was also against a shitty team

Forget about the stats, the best part about Boshs game yesterday was seeing him get up in Ryan Hollins grill.

If CB can bring that sort of intensity every game, I am looking forward to a nice trickle down effect right through the roster.

This. I would love to show that type of intensity against every team. Hopefully some on the defensive side as well

I remember how Bosh started the season last year, too. We'll see how long he keeps this effort and intensity up for, given that he's only done it for less than 10 minutes in total thus far.

Apparently Bosh has returned in fine form. After winning the opening tip to Calderon, Bosh makes a driving layup 15 seconds later to kick off the game’s scoring. Then Bosh gets his first foul and first defensive board in quick succession. Welcome back!

And as if to announce his whole game is ready to go, Bosh sinks his first 3-point attempt of the preseason a minute and a half into the game.

Bosh returns for the second quarter and starts off with a defensive board followed by a quick offensive foul. Then to remind us its preseason, he misses a 3-pointer and a layup! Finishing his night at the 5:17 mark with 9 points, 7 rebounds, a block, and a steal shortly after missing a pair of free throws.

considering that there are only about 5 or 6 teams that can honestly claim to have one, i'm pretty happy with what the raps have put together.

I'm with you on that one but I just hate how Bosh is slowly getting into the shooting big I mean he's already showing signs ..do u remember Bosh first year as a raptor he use to dunk on people now Bosh gets scared even to attempt a lay up

Bosh has never dunked "on" people, he may have had a few more stand-out dunks as a young'n, but I think that was more because he was sort of an unknown commodity and big plays got more attention. I'd venture to say he gets to the rim now more than he used to.

Bosh has impressed me in limited minutes thus far. I haven't seen him this aggressive and really fighting for balls since his first couple of seasons. The team's attitude has to, and will, start with CB, and if this is how Bosh is going to carry himself for the rest of the season then we've got nice things to look forward to.

Knock on wood.

I have still only watched the first half of todays game but in his first six minutes against Jamieson:
10 points allowed.
0 points scored

Second time on court threw up 2 bricks, let Blatch beat him to the rim, let a pass from Bargs bounce off his face.

I'll chalk it up to not playing much so far this offseason just to keep the Boshies sane.
