Blazers Are Big On Jose

Portland are apparently very interested in pursuing Jose this summer now too. Might have some valuable pieces in return for us too. ACIE might have been onto something last week. ;)

Were KP able to work his magic, be it via contract offer or sign-and-trade with Toronto or a draft-day deal involving the Blazers' lottery pick and a possible mix of current players, landing Calderon would be a definite upgrade for the Blazers, however unlikely it may be.

Not unless they give us Oden : )

Ball Don't Lie 05-12-2008 08:07 PM

We give them their dynasty PG, we get a clutch scoring option+a lottery pick. win win.

Joshz 05-12-2008 08:19 PM

Calderon and our #1 for Outlaw (or Webster) Pryzbilla, and there #1?

MangoKidHoops 05-13-2008 09:35 AM

One offer had Jack, Outlaw and the #13 pick for Calderon. That I like.

If I was Jose I would run to join Portland team... :evillaugh:

From a "who's future's brigther" perspective, I would too Ivan. :(

If Jose went to the Blazers, I think all Raptor fans would kill themselves for the next 10 years

Calderon
Alderidge (Bargnani pick)
Roy (Bargnani pick)
Oden (screwed by the can't draft out of high school rule)

On at the same time. Wow. That's just mean. That's the all "Na na na na na na Raptor fans!" team.

Major 05-13-2008 05:59 PM

Jose

for

#2 Pick
Webster/Outlaw ??

Just tossing up ideas, Brandon Roy's an idea too but I we're more on the SF/PF hunt than the SG hunt no?

Aren't you a little ahead of yourself Major? We don't even know what the lottery order is yet. Wishful thinking though. ;)

No kidding... with Jose as their point guard, lottery pick, healthy Oden and more experienced young core Portland would be awesome next year.

Joshz 05-13-2008 07:18 PM

I know a little bit of wishful thinking but Calderon and our #1 for Pryzbilla, Webster, and there #1 (either DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love...if we got lucky a Gordon, Bayless, or Westbrook...Bayless and Westbrook could both backup Ford)

looks like a good deal to me, Websters ceiling to me is higher than Outlaws, hes got a 3s size with the ball skills of a two...key here would be immediate athletic upgrade with Webster, and one of those picks, as long as its not Love

Demetrio 05-13-2008 10:24 PM

Portland will be the last team where Jose would like to play, just take a look how they are misusing Sergio Rodriguez, beside that almost every european player going to that team got screwed one way or another, Fernando Martin(first Spaniard in the NBA), Drazen Petrovic, even Arvidas Sabonis, just to mention a few, but the bottom line you won't see him going anywhere, he got what he wants in Toronto, Coach, teammates, and as soon as we trade Tj minutes, end of the debate.:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Also from what I know, Portland believes they already have their future PG (Rudy Fernandez)

Belsius 05-14-2008 09:10 AM

rudy fernandez is a SG.

Yup and sooner or later the Blazers are going to need someone to lead that potentially powerful squad at the PG spot. Right now I'd stay they are one of the most feasible suitors for either Jose or T.J. to be dealt to this summer. Stay tuned. ;)

Kirby 05-17-2008 07:10 PM

To Raptors:
Roy
Jack
Frye

To Blazers:
Calderon
Graham
Baston
Parker

If I was BC I'd pull the trigger for Roy but otherwise, I'd try to get rid of Ford in a package for like a 20PPG scorer.
Paul Pierce in mind.

Ball Don't Lie 05-17-2008 07:54 PM

If those players were available maybe. Roy isnt gonna be available for another 7 years, and Pierce another 4 years.

Kirby 05-17-2008 07:57 PM

That's why I meant trade. Not sign.

Kirby 05-17-2008 08:01 PM

To Raptors:
Pierce
Rondo
Davis :D

To Celtics:
Ford
Graham
Baston
Kapono
2nd round picks and Giorgos Printezis.
