Default Bill Simmons on Raptors most valuable assets

The Sports Guy: Bill Simmons NBA Trade Value rankings for 2009 - ESPN Page 2

Quote:
Andrea Bargnani: His ceiling? Memo Okur. Is this a good thing for the No. 1 overall pick of a 2007 draft that included LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy? Probably not.
Quote:
19. Chris Bosh
This year's Pau Gasol: Bosh has been unhappy for awhile and it's starting to reflect in his play. I went to a Clips game in December when Bosh wreaked havoc (31 easy points) but had one of those grim, tortured, trapped, KG-circa-2006 looks on his face. Not good. I call it the "I didn't realize when we decided to have our third kid that my wife would gain 75 pounds" Face. That's why Team Simmons has stopped at two. Wait, am I talking out loud?

Okur is not even half as athletic as AB, that's just not a correct assessment.

AB is way closer to being a Dirk than an Okur, but for now, he is not as good either of them.

I lost tons of my love for Bosh when he let KG spank him and make a fool out of him.

I would swing my elbows and create a new chin for KG.

Bargs is starting to play a lot like Dirk now.

Both aren't great rebounders and move well for their height. Dirk just has a better shot and he's a better scorer than Bargs.

yep, and he always will be I hate the comparison, it's unfair to AB for ppl to want him to be something he never will be, almost as unfair as the expectations on Chris.

They were comparing him to Okur

Simmons says we can trade Bosh (19) for Joe Johnson (21), Caron Butler (29) or O.J. Mayo (33)

When all is said and done, Andrea will be the second best pick in that draft. Aldridge will be a consistent, serviceable player for his whole career, but Andrea has the potential that Aldridge just doesn't have.

I think the best picks of that draft so far are obviously Bargs, Roy, Aldridge, Millsap, and Gay. Rondo is ok, but looks way better playing on the Celtics. I know some people are high on Sefolosha's potential, too, but he needs a lot more progress.

okay then I proved you point, you just said Bargs will be second best, so (1) Roy and (3) Aldridge was implied.

Hey fun fact: Bargs is the only player on the Raptors that has not missed a single game this year! Good to know that we at least got a pick that is not going to be injured on and off or has weird problems.

Unbelievable.

Just completely discounts anything Bargnani does as shit. He MUST have hit his ceiling, I mean he's 23, he's all but washed up. Roy and Aldridge are special cases, they have high ceilings, just not bargs.

What a crock of shit, he was emailed!

He's saying that Memo is the ceiling.... he's not saying that he's reached it.
