Biggest need on this team?

New coach?
New GM?
C?
PG?
SF?
Scouting?
Ownership?

What is the biggest need this team has moving forward this summer?

jeffb 05-02-2011 09:36 AM

Three biggest needs.... Center, PG, HC

In all honesty, i would say that a true Center is probably the biggest need overall followed very closely by getting a PG.I would love to see us trade Bargnani, Jose and or anyone outside of our top 3-4 young core players to get a real Center and ideally draft Irving or another good PG.

hopefully we can kill 7 birds with one stone

dfunkie1 05-02-2011 10:10 AM

the biggest need this team has is getting rid of the players that identify us with 'soft basketball'.

i don't think we need a new coach. i look at tranio the same way i look at sam mitchell. he's the coach that will get our players to the level a new coach will be able to succeed.

The biggest need for this team is a superstar. Since we won't get that in this draft, we have to be careful to not improve too much. Next year's draft is supposed to be one of the best , so this summer we should draft for potential.

+1

Talent and toughness.

im going to say ownership because asside from the nba owned hornets i cant recall any teams of recent that had decent seasons while the franchise was for sale

that and you need coaches that beat the shit out of bargnani so he rebounds or cut his minutes to 25-28 so the gangsters can bang

dd and ed need to continue developing and things wont look so bad

3 point shooting! This team placed so much emphasis on getting more athletic, which we did, but in the process we failed to address our shooting from beyond the arc. If we continue to rely on a 7-foot centre to make 3's we're doomed.

I'd argue the 3 point shooting should come in later when this team moves closer to being a complete team.

good point

dd has a good stroke, i assume he will develope a 3 and hopefully its for next season. Definitlly need a shooter at the sf spot to spread the floor specially with ed davis and amir eating some of bargnani's minutes, klieza if back can help off the bench and hopefully james johnson is a better shooter than he showed last season

definitely got to improve in that area however they go about it

I agree wholeheartedly.

Certainly a defensive C and a star PG wouldn't hurt either.

Defense, Star Talent

Adress the star talent with the draft. I think we need a new defensive minded coach. We have a lot of influential young players, its time they learn defensive fundamentals and accountability. I really want Mike Brown. Cleveland was ranked at the top in defense all those years, and he inherited a young team and made them play defense. I think he was interviewing for the Houston Job. He has the defensive background of being an assistant coach to Gregg Popovich and Rick Carlisle.

rapsmannn 05-02-2011 02:51 PM

a Legit Center/ 3 point shooter who plays SF/ and better defensive scheme because our defense sucks despite bargs being on the floor or not

I would put PG fourth on that shockingly

IGetAir 05-02-2011 03:53 PM

A legitimate Center for sure, whether we're keeping Bargs or getting rid of him we still need a center.

LX 05-02-2011 04:02 PM

I'd say new ownership as well. Without that I'm not overly confident about any other needs being properly assessed or addressed.

Super_Size_Swag 05-02-2011 04:28 PM

1. Leadership - Whos the leader on this team? Got me.
2. Toughness - Way too soft
3. A solid wing defender - Way too many open looks beyong the arc.
4. A defensive C - No more easy lay ups

DDUnreal 05-02-2011 09:44 PM

TRADE BARGS need #1

Yep... that should about cover it.

Shifty.py 05-03-2011 01:32 AM

New GM? No, I have faith in BC
New coach? Definitely, but we can keep Triano for another tanking/lockout year
Roster? Will bo ok in due time if BC is still here

Getting rid of Bargnani - yes please!

Naj_Irban 05-03-2011 08:14 AM

Ownership: I want owners who actually enjoy basketball and don`t NEED the franchise to be profitable.

Big bodied Centre: Just give me an edgy big man who RELISHES physical play and is of at least average talent.
