I think a really nice wild card for us here would be Channing Frye. We desperately need offensive big men and with his heart trouble and everything I think he could be had cheaply, despite a good comeback year this season. Also he's a very high character player with great bball IQ. Basically he'd be a big enough upgrade over Novak that we could actually widen our rotation and give him real minutes.

My best case scenario is a trade with Denver that nets us Chandler and Mozgov.

Sign VC.

Done.

Lowry/Vasquez/De Colo
DeRozan/Carter
Ross/Chandler/Fields
Amir/Patterson
JV/Mozgov

I'd love Battier, just for the fact that so many people would set their hair on fire for the whole season.

First off I agree with assessment as it looks like most on here do. From the list JeffB provided I would go with Okafor for my big or C Anderson because these seem like the two most legitimate shot blocker that can also contribute if needed on the offensive end that we can afford ( if we had $$ I go with Monroe) Seraphin would also be interesting, I wonder what he wold be like if he got consistent back up minutes.

As for my wing, I think we need one who has above average D on bigger perimeter players but can also contribute offensively. So for me, I would go with Deng ( if we had the cash) otherwise, M Williams, Aminu or Granger because of their D potential, size, offensive ability (except Aminu) and likely affordability. I like CJ Miles but he doesn't play much D much like my other favourite VC . C Butler would also fit my criteria but for some reason I feel chemistry would be an issue ie who steals the ball at the end of a game when your trying to shake hands?......C Butler.

That Mozgov/Chandler idea above could work as a Salmons + Hansbrough return. Whether the salary relief would be enough for DEN is another question.

I would so do this. Since your the cap man, what shape would we be in after a move like this?

Doesn't Ujiri and Gallo have a friendship. Maybe he'll make him a Raptor somehow. Gallo recently said he's going to play in the NBA until he is 35.

He has too many injury concerns imo

Okafor is completely done. His injuries will keep him from being a legitimate option.

The Chandler/Mozgov thing would be excellent; I think we're all forgetting that Ujiri could look to the draft for help, too. If we nail our first-rounder and get some decent value for our seconds, it could work out that way.

I'd be very tempted to give up our first-rounder this year for the both of them and cap ballast if that's what it took.

Well, we'd be adding about 1 or 2 M this season, plus not cutting that unguaranteed salary, so we'd start to be getting closer to tax territory, once Lowry et al are re-signed. We'd probably still have wiggle room though.

For next summer, Chandler has a team option, so we could free up some cap if we wanted to. Still, you're adding Mozgov's 4-5M, so best case scenario cap room in 2015 shrinks quite a bit.

Thanks!

Pau would be so awesome IMO.. good at protecting the rim, good in the post via the pass and scoring, and a good vet.. wonder what his price tag would be?? Also his health concerns. I also love Monroe but that's prob a pipe dream.

Granger or Vince on the wing I like as well.

1. wing players:
a. Cheap price : (minimum)
Tucker and James Johnson.
i think JJ has learn he is not an offensive weapon, but a solid defender for the 3-4 position

b. by trade or S&T :
Carter : as our backup sg, it would be nice to have a guy whom can spread the floor.
Deng, would be our starting SF, but i think we would have to give too much to get him from Cleveland, especially if they don't sign LBJ.

c. big trade :
Batum (don't see that happening, but he will be great besides KL and DD)

2. BIgs
1. UFA
Okafor would be nice if he is healthy.
Hill too but he remind me too much of Amir.

2. trade : Varejao, Dalembert
