Not true at all.

Dwight Howard
Russell Westbrook
Deron Williams
Amare Stoudemire
Dwayne Wade
Dirk Nowitzki
...
and the list goes on...

None of those players will be traded this season, and that's for certain. Thus, making them 'untouchable'.

I've been watching alot of Sixers games. The Evan Turner kid is going to be real good. A backcourt of Turner and Bayless handling the ball, setting up team mates, and attacking the rim would be very dynamaic. This draft is going to be really ugly. Trade the pick for Evan Turner.

The Charlotte Bobcats have discussed a trade to send forward Gerald Wallace to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a league source told Yahoo! Sports.

The Cavaliers would use their trade exception to acquire Wallace, but have also pushed for a lottery-protected first-round pick for them to take on the two years and $22 million left on Wallace’s contract through the 2012-13 season, the source said.

The Bobcats have been shopping Wallace for several weeks and discussed packaging him in deals to several teams.
Cavs discuss deal for "Cats" Wallace - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Oh shit if this is true BC should outbid Cavs. Wallace is exactly the kind of player our teem needs at SF. (Whatever was said in the past about not coming to TO, its still better than staying in Charlotte or going to Cleveland)
TPE + our unprotected 1st to get an all-star is a steal

Edit: wtf I misread. Cavs want Wallace PLUS pick? Crazy...

Ive been waiting for a big trade since the end of last season, man the anticipation is intense and hopefully only builds up and something actually HAPPENS as the trade deadline approaches...this team needs some sort of shakeup to improve the perimeter D.

bullshit. every one of those teams would trade any one of those players for lebron, durant or griffin. in a heartbeat. they won't get that offer, but they would do it if the offer was there. they are not untouchable.

I don't see your logic...

lebron, durant and griffin are untouchable but those other players aren't untouchable because they would be traded only for the three players mentioned before who are untouchable anyway.

it's a sliding scale. what i'm saying is that from the perspective of most teams, anyone is tradeable if they are offered lebron, kd or griffin. maybe dwight, but i'd argue he's in a second class. if you are willing to trade someone he's clearly not untouchable. whether or not that other team would make the offeris irrelevant.

this is an idea i stole from bill simmons. here's last year's version of his sliding trade value scale:

Bill Simmons: 2010 NBA trade value column - ESPN

I see what youre saying just found it odd that you responded by saying "bullshit" when all the poster was saying is that those stars arent changing teams because obviously the megastars aren't being offered.

Dwight's on that list. Nobody would trade the best big man in the league. Heck, GM's hesitate to trade any big man in the league.

i retract my bullshit comment. i hadn't has a coffee yet. better?

but the poster didn't understand the point, and then went on to say it was not true at all, so i needed to respond. the fact that the offers aren't being made is irrelevant to whether or not a team would accept an offer if it was made. 'untouchable' and 'not movable practically speaking' are very different things. if you would move someone for the right package they are not untouchable. it is my point that those 3 guys are the only untouchable players in the nba. i don't think you couldn't offer anything to convince the heat, thunder or clips to trade their marquee guy. but orlando would probably trade dwight if you offered them lebron. same with utah and deron or new orleans and paul. that's the difference between a guy that is untouchable and a guy that realistically you won't get any offers for.

I actually don't think Orlando would do LBJ for Dwight.... why would they? Dude has been negative press while DH has only been a model franchise player. Dude is the most dominant big in the league in a league starved for bigs. Just my opinion, but I think it's valid.
