Best of 7: Washington Wizards?

I know it's still a bit premature to be talking playoffs and matchups, I know.

For the sake of discussion though, how do you see a potential best of 7 with the Toronto Raptors & Washington Wizards turning out?

Personally I'm unsure of whether I would want to play a young team like Washington or a veteran team like Brooklyn.

A young team like Washington could give us problems because they may be able to match our athleticism and run n gun.

A veteran team like the Nets brings back memories of 06-07

it's funny because that matchup doesn't scare me as a raptor fan, but it likely doesn't scare a washington wizards fan either. that said i don't think there's any question we're the better team.

Coin toss
4-3 to the team with home court advantage

I don't like our chances if its a coin toss situation.

Raptors in 6 :mu:

Fröz-d 01-28-2014 01:54 PM

Raps in 5. We get blown out one game in Washington because of lack of focus, but that only inspires us to play our best game ever in game 5 to snuff em out. Oh Yeah. :jack:

Fröz-d 01-28-2014 01:55 PM

Washington is over rated.

1 in 10 Raptor fans on Raptorsforum believe the Wizards will win the series.

Have to go with the Raps. Too many holes on that Wizards team. They've got a superstar who can step up in Wall, but overall the Raptors defense will be too much for them. One of the few matchups I feel confident in the team winning.

Raps in 5.

Just cannot see the Wiz beating us in a series, get the frig outta here.

Psi 01-28-2014 07:12 PM

Raps would win this in 6 or 7, would be hard under a playoff environment, but still would pull through.

Raptor4Life 01-28-2014 07:32 PM

I would have to go with the Raps in 6 games. Out of all those teams in the mix right now, it would be best to play the Wizards. I don't want to play an experienced team that has a good system in the Bulls or Hawks. Or a veteran team in the Nets. Don't get me wrong, I know we can compete with them, but ideally out of all the teams in the mix - Bulls, Hawks, Nets, Wizards - I would have to go with the Wizards.

true, we've lost so many recently
still a random 50% chance though :)

If we have to start on the road, not sure we can win 4 games. Wall is the biggest star on the field and he'll get calls and wear lowry down. We beat them pretty well so far, but we played really hard in those games and they didn't. In the playoffs, I think we will have less room to improve than them, but then again, they may up their intensity much - who knows.

I definitely don't see this a 5 game series regardless of who's hosting, the teams are too even for that to happen. Not to mention both are, for the most part, jump shooting teams, so games will be streaky.

Raptor4Life 01-28-2014 07:35 PM

Back in our last playoff run, when we won the Atlantic, we lost to the Nets who I thought we could have beat. I was hoping for the Wizards to win one more regular season game, so we could have faced them instead of the Nets. Their roster was plagued by injuries at the time.

Thug 01-28-2014 07:48 PM

20 to 1 in the poll right now. Really?

cheekykent 01-28-2014 09:16 PM

easy game, if healthy...raps in 6

Last time we ended up with Ross, so we got that going for us, which is nice.

I'd rather have barnes, more upside there.

THE COIN TOSS DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE WE DIDN'T TAKE DRUMMOND. :cookie:
