No they aren't they are wolves in sheeps clothing. they will likely fleece toronto, shed a few old chumps, pull an NBA aided coup for Cousins and re load in the lottery for another ru at the cup

Still think Utah and Atlanta makes the most sense. Utah has #17 (Uta 1st) and #23/#24 (GSW 1st), ATL has #16 (HOU 1st, top 14 protected) and #19 (ATL 1st). Obviously grabbing both 1sts from either is ideal, but even if we get just one or a "higher of the 2" deal, it's not like we come out that bad. Much bigger prices to pay for a bad move, than dropping from #7/#8 (TOR 1st) to #16-#19. In 2011 the players in the late teens were better than the mid lottery anyways

I think the celtics would take it a laugh all the way to the bank, it's MLSE who wouldn't do it, you're assuming over 20 million in salaries completely wasted for the time he'll be out, you are taking on uninsurable contract and you risk losing him for nothing after just one year. It would be a huge gamble for us, I would do it, but it's not my money ...

Celtics are toast now, they have zero assets (bradley is a minor asset, but he's still recovering from that injury and who knows how good he really is). Beyond that, KG, PP have value, but severely limited because they wouldn't go anywhere else but to a contender and the rest of the roster is pure garbage, scrubs like barbosa, lee or melo or severely overpaid guys like green. Sulinger could be an asset if not for his knee problems.

So I don't see how they could get anything remotely good to replace rondo, and without a replacement for rondo, it's hard to see them making the playoffs.

Or worse they'll dump Jeff Green on us. Colangelo is probably salivating at the thought of another terrible SF.

Sadly he probably doesn't.

edit- I deleted the picture, because it was pointless, but mostly enormous, and causing problems with the whole thread loading properly

Are you serious?

Rondo is one of the toughest players in the league and his game doesn't rely on explosiveness (the way it does with Rose). He's a top player because he's extremely smart and thinks the game a few moves ahead of most. There's no reason to believe that he'd be done after this injury... esp. considering the fact that he was walking around afterwards.

if the ACL is broken, it's the same injury that rose had, and that injury takes at least one year to fully heal after the surgery.

obviously, if the injury is less severe, things are very different, but if he's gone for this season and most of the next, the Celtics are done. They're probably done either way, but a trade that gets them two starters for rondo is their best chance to at least make the playoffs.

as far as rondo not relying on his quickness ... if you say so, then try naming one point guard who is not quick, can't shoot and is a quality starter in this league.

can anyone see MLSE allowing BC to pick up a big money contract for a guy that can't play this year and at least a big chunk of next--if he can even come back, and that assumes he can come back at a serviceable level? Come on folks, a Rondo deal isn't happening.

As someone who has ACL repaired - listen to moremilk. Also - there is no such thing as a less-severe ACL tear - when it's torn completely, it is gone.

For a lot of reasons, none more inportant than the fact that Boston will not trade him anyway. Can you imagine, their best player goes down with an ACL tear and a month later is dealt. Not going to happen.

On a side note, Rondo should definitely try to make a deal with Kia. Imagine how many Rondos he'd help Kia sell

That's just how he get's himself off. His post's are pissingly funny. He's like a drug addict that has to keep upping the dosage to get close to the same high. And then they just end up corkscrewing themselves into oblivion.
