Pipe dream but how does Seattle benefit from this? :haha:

From a Raptor perspective I absolutely love it. Nice back up in Luke, AK47 is that other All-Star piece we require and Millsap gives us that toughness in the front court that we severely lacking.

Where do I sign? :haha:

Seattle...is just salary dumping for the new owners...they geat a bunch of cash off the cap next year...and T.J to play with Durant...arnt they from the same place?

Benzo 02-23-2008 10:54 AM

Utah dumps some cash and the AK contract...get a possible young superstar..and get more money once the Rasho deal expires to go get another piece...

Dr. J. Naismith 02-23-2008 11:02 AM

Based on the talent that already exists in Utah, I see it as a good deal for them too. People were hoping that Sloan could turn it around for Haffa, so maybe he can turn Andrea into something special. ;)

Yes...trading Bargs was very tough for me, but I thought AK, Luke and Paul could bring us very close to a championship. We wish Andrea the best, and are sorry we felt it neccessary to play Maceo over him.

Takin from my press conference.

:haha: That's right ... purely fantasy and you pretending to be Colangelo. ;)

Maybe I am BC and just using this as a venue to test my ideas and bounce them off people....Huh ...Huh

whats with your man-love for AK?
he wouldnt be that "missing piece" you think he would be.
a few blocks, a few boards, some decent D, but barely any offense whatsoever.
IMO he's overrated.

Please....he would become our best player.

A few Blocks
A few Boards
A few assists
A few points
Some good D...

...yep no place for a guy like that.

Belsius 02-23-2008 12:31 PM

I have said it before, kirilenko is the best international player talentwise after Nash.

moremilk 02-23-2008 12:45 PM

however, AK wants to play PF, not SF. That was the main reason he wanted to leave Utah. He can't really shoot the 3, he's obviously an upgrade over moon, but really, is it worth losing both Andreea and TJ for it? Marion only makes 3 millions or so more - I would rather get Marion for something like TJ + Rasho if possible ...

And speaking of TJ, did you see how last night he was going to the rim at some point, and there was somebody trailing him, Q-Rich I think, and TJ CLEARLY hesitated to attempt a layup (he would have been fouled from behind), and stopped and threw the ball way back - almost a back-couort violation? I think somebody is a bit afraid to take it to the hole anymore ...

I have a better trade...

Rasho & Baston for Dwight & 2nd round pick...
Joey, Martin, & 2nd round Pick for Kobe...
and Garbo, Hump, & 2nd round pick for LeBron...

There you go... although their bench would be thin I still think that Raps would have decent chance of making in into 2nd round of playoffs... :bonk:

i think this trade sucks even more for utah. they have korver, so why again, would they want kapono? plus im not sure collison and nestorevic makes a whole lot of sense for them, maybe one or the other, unless they're looking at the expiring aspect of rasho.
bargnani is intriguing in that he's less of a stiff than Haffa, and with his jump shooting and passing ability, sloan's system will probably bring out the best in him.

and good points.

please dont compare parker and kapono... and dont assume they are even closely related.
kapono is a one trick pony.
parker can shoot, drive, pass, play decent D, and has a high bball iq.
parker is light years ahead of kapono in terms of all around bball game.
and parkers not even that good, so that says alot about kapono.

yeah man, i don't think korver is a better scorer off the dribble, and he's not as good as a defender, though i'm starting to see parker as not the kind of defender we all think he is. i think he's adequate. whether or not that's because he's got good defense behind him is up for debate.
also korver lacks the ability to be able to slash and dunk. i think the korver/kapono comparison is a bit closer that a korver/parker.

BballWatcher 02-24-2008 10:32 AM

Meh.

Seattle would probably do Ridnour for TJ straight up because Rid has been playing like shit and TJ's ceiling is waaaaaay higher.

As for the other deal it's basically Rasho/Bargnani for Kirilenko/Millsap... Like all the other Bargnani trades it means giving up on the guy.

Weren't we in the hunt for Gasol with the guy? Now we're looking at players like Kirlenko? I'm as frustrated as any of you guys, but this is really buying high, selling low...
