Default Belinelli vs. Gordon

Can marco be this year a better version of what Gordon was for Chicago?

you mean score more than 20 ppg while taking 30+ shots.....I don't think so
unlike Chicago there are other players that shoot a lot

Please let him be less one-dimensional than that. He talks about improving all aspects of his game and that is what I'm actually looking for.

He is a role player. The only thing he needs to improve on is his FG%.

Actually, what I meant was having the ability to provide instant scoring off the bench consistently. Like Gordon or Nate did last season.

i'd like to see belli take some charges and get scrappy. that to me would be the surprise. we need that more than ppg.

Better?

Absolutely not.

Gordon was a machine for the Bulls. He put on stunning displays of clutchness that Marco is simply not yet capable of.

See if you can remember your quote and how idiotic it will be in about 3 months.
Belli is so much more than a role player. And he will be a lot more versatile than Gordon. He will shoot it at a good %, he has great court vision, can handle the ball, and is 100 times more creative than Gordon.

Instead of just making a dumbass comment based on your personal "insight"
Why don't you do some research? I've watched Belli play in Italy and as many games as I could get on satellite in the NBA.
There's a reason BC is so high on him... Soon you shall be educated.
Just remember your original quote!

instead of making a dumbass insult like 'idiotic', can you just disagree with someone and make a coherent argument to back it up? do we really need to resort to insults to get our points across?

and, if you are needing to insult, you may find that it works a lot better if you spell it right...

Typo fixed and it was hardly an insult.. I've seen a lot more insulting language in here but you're a mod so I'll concede to your wishes.
I just have an issue with answers like
He 's just a role player
He's a Euro
He's soft...without any real back up.
To the fellow I "insulted"" I apologize.........

if the target of your vitriol makes a weak argument, you shouldn't need an ad hominem to counter it. if it's a strong argument, the ad hominem just makes yours look weaker. this isn't about bad or mean words, it's about the quality of the discourse.

I disagree with the statement that Gordon was so clutch last year. The weakness of both teams -- a KG-less Boston and a Bulls team with a weak front-court -- made Gordon's performance stand out and look like something it wasn't.

In the playoffs last year, Ben Gordon only shot 50% or more in one game and finished the playoffs at 38.8% from the field. He did take a lot of trips to the line (8 per game), but in 43.4 minutes in a series where he was the primary ballhandler, that's not that amazing, especially given his defensive numbers for the playoffs: 0.4 steals, 2.9 rebs per game.

----------

I felt that Rondo's performance last year in the playoffs was much more spectacular: he basically averaged a triple double and 2.5 steals per game to boot!!!

FWIW I meant his entire career, not just one playoff series.

He is a volume guy though, and usually at a disadvantage defensively. I see the idea behind looking for the instant offense, but if that's the role Beli gets I'm not sure I can say I'm happy about it. He can offer a lot as a facilitator, and I'd be ecstatic if he was half-decent defending the perimeter.

No disrespect intended but what is your problem?
In my original post I didn't insult the poster . I said his remark was ididotic
Insult the post not the poster.
Vitriol?????? did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
Vitriol---language expressing bitterness and hatred
I hardly think my post was vitriolic?

If you're here to moderate then moderate. If your here to display your impressive display of "words are important" I'm not impressed.
I said his statement was idiotic. I still say it is .... without any bitterness or hatred on my part. It is a comment and a fair one considering the post.
Realizing I might get my wrist slapped

i'm not here to impress, nor to slap wrists. what i'm trying to do is suggest that there are better ways to make your case than to call someone's point idiotic. prove that it's wrong, don't just say it's stupid. what can possibly be gained by insulting the post?

frankly, formless may very well be right. he may be wrong, but to suggest a possibility is certainly not idiotic.

and i'm not quite sure what relevance of being beyond the realm of the physical world has to what i'm talking about...?

I'd like Belli to come off the bench and provide instant energy and scoring. I would want him to be more like Jason Terry then Gordon
