According to Eric Smith, BC confirmed the players he's considering for the #9 pick. So, get ready to see one of these 5 in a Raptors uniform next season:

E. Smith is on the fan right now
Says: BC was contacted by a player agent of a high draft prospect who said Toronto would be a perfect fit for us, can you move up to take him. BC said though that the price was too high to move up. Graham likely out Delfino will be signed AP 50/50 Marion 50/50 Buyers market--- should be able to address needs w FA signing(s) If they draft a wing, will address PG with another pick or trade (possibly Marion S&T) and if they pick a PG they will trade for a wing. |

ok, i totally understand that the chances of Evans being there @ 9 are slim to none, but c'mon, why isnt his name on that list?
you're telling me that if by some miracle of god, evans is still there when we're up, we wont be taking him? its not impossible, some sites have evans going 10. |

One would think that GSW and the Knicks who are messing up the draft.. but really, it's Washington. They don't know if they're gonna use the pick for a plyer for their own roster or whether or not they'll package it for someone else. I think the top-4 is pretty easy -> Griffin, Harden, Rubio and Evans. Curry could go 5-8, Hill could go 5,7,8. Ugh.

Five names for sure that won't be avaliable at 9: Griffin, Rubio, Thabeet, Harden, Curry That leaves 3 open spots above the Raptors: I see Golden State picking up Jordan Hill for the lack of frontcourt depth. NY wants a pure point guard and is conducting a second workout with Jrue Holiday today. So Jrue Holiday and Johnny Flynn are options. The only wildcard is Minnesota. If Minnestoa picks Derozan or picks up up a point guard (their starting point guard is Telfair), Tyreke Evans could fall to 9. You never know what going happen during draft day, the chips have to fall at the right places, for the Raptors to bag the right guy. In past drafts, Paul Pierce and Caron Butler were considered top picks, but both players fell to the 10th spot in 1998 and 2002. |
