Take it for what its worth because I've never heard of Bob Finnan from the News-Herald, but news nevertheless.

LOl. Atleadt he knows a move has to be made. I think this is the best person to move right now. Bargs is starting to play good, and I think if we can trade JO for a wing and a back-up center we will be fine

If BC can trade JO for a good starter @ SF or SG than he is a real genius

I'm liking the non-JO look to be honest. We're a lot less stagnant on offense, and it seems like our perimeter guys are less complacent on defense. That said I still think we can be good with JO in the mix. I would gladly welcome a scorer at the three spot if we could trade for him though.

JO's contract is a huge plus next year as everyone takes a run at the golden trio.

One of the golden might want to leave just because we don't get better. So dreaming that Raptors would have CB4 and Wade playing together, they better push the trigger to keep CB4 first as they have first chance as soon as Raptors management proves him that they want to improve using smart moves. Obviously, JO/CB4/AB combination makes Raptors a good front-court team but a weak back-court team. One of these three has to go. CB4 is untouchable, AB is unproven and won't give you back too much value, the best one to trade is JO if BC can find a trading partner for someone looking for a big to help them now/have cap space later and they are overload with good SG or SF.

his trade value wasnt too high when we got him.
2 years before that trade theres no way indy would do that trade.
his constant injury problems over the past 4 years has only dropped his value further.
If we do trade JO i dont think we should expect much back.

I have said this before and will say it again, I don't think Bosh is untouchable. If CB4 doesn't prove something in the next couple of years, Colangelo shouldn't chase him.

Lets be clear on one thing. JO the player has no value. JO the contract is extremely valuable.

Agree with you to an extent, but no value? I wouldn't go that far. I would say his value as a player is insignificant in relation to his contract, but JO the player can still help a team.

+1.

He's far from a scrub. He could help a lot of teams.

and thats why Bird traded him and the best he could get was a beat up PG and a decent C.

Raptor fans overvalue his contract, you think the Pacers were just so dumb they gave this supposedly insanely great contract to have that could net you a great player away from TJ and Rasho?? I bet the half of dozen teams scoffed at BC if he wanted too much, we would do good to get a slightly above average wing from JO, but those expecting some kind of major impact type player(s) are going to be sorely disappointed, believe me, Indy was trying to get rid of JO for awhile and we offered them by far the best deal. Maybe we can get 2 useful players for him, that would be OK, or something to trade in a package after we trade JO.

Of course he has tried, and will continue to try.

JO will be moved before the deadline for a sg/sf and a defensive backup center.

Question is though, what teams would meet the requirements of needs and dollars outside of Chicago and Dallas?

what do you think we'll get for JO's contract?
1) JO made it public he wanted out. That dropped his value significantly. Do you a remember a certain #15 getting us nothing more than a sack of potatoes, based largely on the fact that he made his desire to get out of town public?
2) It was thought that he had no knees, and would not be able to contribute. He's shown that he can. Beat up player for beat up player. Seems pretty fair to me.
3) Nuff said.

Edit: Add all this to the fact that Larry Bird HATED Jermaine, and it was pretty set that he was taking the first offer he received.

so what do you think we'll get for an EVEN MORE beat up player?
Larry Bird isnt going to accept the first offer he gets.
thats ridiculous.
any GM will try to get the most value.

we had to get rid of vince because he was a mid-season distraction.
Bird had the hole off-season to trade JO.

Saying Bird just accepted any deal is insane, not only did he NOT accept the 1st deal, he took a deal that left them in better shape and a better draft pick + Rasho's expiring.

exactly! contracts are cool, but gm's are still looking for players to play the game NOW! JO offers little other than a huge expiring contract at this point. well put Ugo
