Raptors BC: Some good young players were surprisingly available

Says that they decided to table the discussions until after the season. Anyone have thoughts on who those players might be? Interesting ...

It's good to hear, and probably wise to wait until after the draft to be able to pick and choose properly. I look forward to a bit of a makeover.

My guess is:

Courtney Lee (Clippers were close to dealing for him prior to Young)
O.J Mayo (rumored that they were listening to offers)
Flynn (was moved)

Would be pretty disappointed if we could have had Courtney Lee and we missed.

Why? What's so special about Lee that we don't already have?

Jennings, perhaps? He doesn't look to fit well with Monta.

yep, possible. i think he might be in play for us this summer. it'll be interesting to see if they can co-exist the rest of the season.

signing: nash/jennings, barbosa & vets
draft: barnes/MKG/Davis & JV & 2nd rounder
trade:jose+davis=Gortat

We get nash, we also need someone to take the ease off JV so why not someone nash is use to who is getting awesome points and rebounds. We give them back the point they need and a rookie big. p.s Would rather nash than jennings. We draft a SF with 3 point shooting ability, or just davis the freak of nature if we are lucky, he can play SF quite well sources say and he use to be a guard so his shooting and ball handling isnt poor at all. Our second rounder we get a SG so when nash retires we can put barbs up for trade and slot him right in after years of shooting training with derozan, handling and passing with nash and defence with casey.

So Nash helps everyone automatically and young guards in the long run. Gortat helps JV fully and Bargs for rebounding. Our youth mixed with probably the best vet in the world we have a mixed team and serious playoff team that can contend.

1. Nash or jennings/bayless
2. Derozan/barbosa/2nd rounder
3. barnes or MKG or Davis/johnson/ kleiza
4. bargs/amir
5. gortat/JV

i like iman shumpert, would be worth atrade for bayless in my trade above and a 2nd rounder and if NYK are that feisty we should chuck in some TPE

Always liked his game. He can hit a jumpshot, 3s, has heart, can defend somewhat and is smart. He's young and currently cheap. Who do you think we have like this?

yeah seriously, at least curry was a threat from afar so he can spread the floor for monta to operate inside. but two basket attacking shoot first guards?

I think signing Nash would be a huge priority this year.

He brings so many things we need to the table...

I hope the Raptors offer him a big contract for 2 years. We'd not only be investing in him, but it would be worth it strictly for how much young players improve playing with him.
