Default BC is overrated - drafting scouts suck ass

the Raptors have such POOR drafting scouting that it is ridilcious

the reason why they suck so much now they only have Bosh and Calderon and oneal as their only players worth anything...

the drafts all POST grunwald have been horrible

drafting nothing but busts and trading away our picks.

bosh is going to leave toronto and i hope he does if it doesn't improve honestly cause this team is garbage.

and i'm a raptor fan too.

andrea BUSTnani

5 points yesterday? wtf? this guy was taken 1st overall ?

he's the biggest bust since kwame brown

look at the past drafts tell me other then Bosh and the drafts before him who the hell did we draft that contributed to our team?

and Bosh wasn't even picked by our current GM's

the reason why the Raptors lack so much talent and we only have 4 movable pieces is bad drafting

i just hope this year when we finally do have a pick we don't trade it away or draft another bustnani.

I haven't had any problem with most of what Brian Colangelo has done since taking over this mostly ignored franchise 3 years ago (27 wins in 05-06).We are a much more respected consistent franchise with two more playoff appearances and a division title, first in franchise history. He hasn't been perfect but he's put us into the playoffs and back on the NBA map again. And this script is far from over.

you mentioned O'Neal as a player with value. well though BC didn't draft villanueva, he trades him for tj ford, who then becomes o'neal. BC's only been here for three drafts, and really only had two to work with. i think Bargs was and is a good pic. sure he could've taken gay or roy, but hindsight is about the only card you're playing right now and it's a weak one.
the draft we had no first rounders was because of that aweful lamond murray deal from grunwald's years. GMs never start from scratch. they always inherit their predecessor's mistakes and successes.
this team isn't that bad, relax.

Geez ... please don't jump off any bridges or buildings.

Look, I'm one of Bargnani's biggest critics and as much as he looked like the Andrea of old last night during the Magic game, he has shown a significant improvement in his overall game so far this year. Defending he's done a fantastic job. It's not his fault that Sam decided to play him as a SF where he can get exposed easily. I think Sam should go back to his original plan and have him backup both Bosh and JO. More performances like last night from Andrea at SF will only tear apart this kid's confidence more than we realize. Its Sam's responsibility to acknowledge this and make the appropriate changes to prevent this from happening.

The thing is we have less depth. That was a given. We traded 3 players away for one and gave away our draft pick.On top of that we had no money to go and sign free agents this summer. So therefor BC may have to get a trade and then add some depth next summer with little money we have. This team IMO is 2 good players away from being very good. It's a process.

the BC years are still a work in progres... as has been mentioned a lot of the reasons we have little to show for the drafts has been someone else's fault. Give the man some time! the life span of the coach is another issue. i think Smitch is seeing the end as i listen to him spew rhetoric night after night. NO new thoughts, no new ideas seem to be forth coming.. what the f*** do all those coach's offer him and why can't we figure out how to play some f&*(**g defense. That falls on the coach not the GM.

Granted doc, but if you play Bargnani at the three, the risk is early foul trouble, so you'd need a solid game plan to force the other team's hand. some matchup zone or even putting Bosh on their three. also, offensively, they went to him in the post for the first play of the game and he converted a nice jump hook. they never went back again until the fourth quarter.
everyone's been saying it all year, including mitchell, if he doesn't touch the ball for a while he goes cold and his confidence fades. Im hoping last night was because of the awful PG play. mitchell's gotta hammer the point guards and the bigs to swing the ball to bargs, to at least get him some touches early and often.

we really need to keep that pick 2009

that is so important for us we need to draft the best talent avaliable because we are obiviously lacking

if this poor performance continues expect mitchell to be fired and i hope he does.

no Bargnani did good in miami part of the problem and i think is a huge problem is the way mitchell misuses Bargs to the max.....

so far Bryan had only one #1 pick, Andreea and two #2 picks, tucker who didn't make it and Jawaii who is yet to play (but who could be a major steal if he ever gets to play). So obviously you think Andreea is a major bust, even though there are only 3 players in that draft who are better assets right now, and by the end of the year that list could drop to just 1 (last year foye was on that list too, but I don't think he is anymore).

So worse case scenario, andreea was drafted 3 position to early, which is hardly a major mistake, anyway you look at it. And this is not based on expectations and whatnot, it's based on current production.

I don't think he likes drafts, he always trades the picks away. I was surprised he didn't trade away the #1 pick and drafted Bargs.

Time will show BC will always be in his fathers shadow and never as good as ppl thought And im not saying this because of a few losses, ive been saying this for a long time, nothing he has done in his career is overly impressive, he has never won anything of note and the best players he has ever gotten werent what he wanted (in the case of Nash) or werent his picks altogether.

Yep.

Other than Amare and Marion what draft picks blew you away when he was in PHX? And even then... who's to say that his dad didn't have alot of input into those?

Good GMs find a way to draft diamonds even late in the draft. You don't need a top 10 pick to land a stud.
