BC named to the NBA competition commitee

Celtics coach Doc Rivers is one of three head coaches named to a new competition committee that also includes two owners, four general managers and a representative from the National Basketball Players Association. The committee previously was comprised of the 30 general managers.

The other members include: owners Dan Gilbert (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Joe Lacob (Golden State); general managers Bryan Colangelo (Toronto Raptors), Mitch Kupchak (L.A. Lakers), Kevin O’Connor (Utah Jazz), and Sam Presti (Oklahoma City); and coaches Rick Carlisle (Dallas Mavericks), Lionel Hollins (Memphis Grizzlies) and Rivers. The NBPA will designate one of its members to serve on the committee.

The competition committee votes on rule changes and their recommendations will be brought to the Board of Governors. The first meeting will take place during the finals.

Outside of the owners that's a pretty good group to be a part of.

Hmm what if Boston is in the Finals? and OKC? they are gonna drag the coaches out for this?

I'm sure the coaches have time for one introductory meeting. Surely somewhere, sometime during the Finals. It would probably be in either Boston/OKC if they made the finals.

Keeping some great company, I might add. Certainly a sign of league-wide recognition.
