Hmmm .... that's too bad that Gallinari won't be playing tonight for the Knicks. A little battle of Italy's elite would of been fun to watch.

Colangelo disagrees. With Gallinari (bulging disc) missing his showdown vs. Bargnani tonight, Colangelo believes his guy still is the class of Italy.

"I think the upside Bargnani has is different," Colangelo told The Post. "He's a 7-footer vs. 6-9. He has the advantage of size. When some Italian [scouts] told me Danilo was a better prospect, I've always politely disagreed. Danilo has a bright future if his health holds up. But if you're going to say who will be better, I'd bet on a 7-footer who has already had success in the NBA."

So the main argument here was size? Yeah, you can't teach size...Well so far it seems like you and your boys can't teach defense and rebounding neither. Come on, give me a break B.C. Bring your A game... Give us something more than that. I mean really, who knows more about Italian talent? The guys who watch every game in person or you, a guy who doesn't have time and logistically cannot make it happen? Love what you've done and all but give us more than that...

You expected him to say he picked the wrong guy?

Man, BC has more connections in Italy than Don Corleone. The Raptors have the Godfather of international basketball scouting games for them. BC gets his high-collar dress shirts custom-tailored in Italy for goodness sakes. You can't be hinting that he wasn't making an educated decision when he drafted Andrea.

No, I'm not hinting at that but that was then and this is now. He admits that the scouts in Italy think Gallinari is the better talent. These are the guys who watch all the games and practices. If he's arguing this then chances are he's not listening to these scouts. If he's not listening to these scouts then he must be listening to HIS scouts. His scouts don't watch every single game over there. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Of course he did the research on Bargnani but that doesn't mean he came to the correct decision, too early to tell but as of right now its not looking that great. If his decision was wrong and he did realize it now he sure as hell wouldn't admit to it unless he would enjoy seeing the Toronto media drinking from Andrea's skull while that roll him out of town in a barrel.

gallinari hasn't even played a game yet and he already got injured twice ... You can look at this two ways: who is better right now, and who has more potential. I think the answer to the first is pretty obvious, Bargnani has 2 years of experience and gallinari is a rookie coming from Europe - unless some kind of miracle will happen, he will be dwarfed by Andreea across the board.

When it comes to potential, Gallinari's could, at best, be the next Tony Kukoc. Bargnani could be the next Nowitzki. Not sure about you, but I'd rather have Dirk than Tony.

To me it seems that if you are actually comparing Gallinari's potential with Bargnani's current performance ...
