Raptors BC getting extension

Quote:
"I know the perception of the staff internally is that Bryan is going to be extended before Richard Peddie steps down at CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment," e-mailed someone in prime position to confirm or deny such an allegation. "I believe Richard 100% when he says publicly he's committed to getting an extension done with Bryan. "With plausible rumors of a change in majority ownership swirling, and with Richard participating in the selection of his own replacement (he announced his resignation a couple months ago, effective Dec. 31 this year), I believe the last thing he wants to do is to conduct a search for B.C's replacement.

Quote:
"Richard is not bluffing when he gives his full support to Bryan--so, if a change were to get made it would be entirely the result of ownership's decision, and ownership really likes Bryan. In fact, I believe the ownership/management situation gives B.C. considerable leverage in negotiating an extension."

I still trust BC he has that urge to win, to bad not everyone thinks so.

OK THEY ARE NOT THAT BAD. Yes we are a bottom 5 team and all of our starters will not start some where else except maybe Andrea. What did you expect. In basketball you either build through the draft or get FA like NY and since we are the Raptors the draft is the way to go. We have to wait and see who we get this draft and then start asking for BC's head. If we draft a bust after this tank of a season i will be really frustrated.

What's more, according to someone else on the scene owning peripheral vision on such matters, there's a long-term plan in place, with an emphasis on patience, that's supported by both Bryan and ownership.

The fact that we compete with Healthy top tier teams is a testament to the talent we have. And the Coaching that has taken place.

I personally cant wait to see what is in store for our team next year. We will be beasts in the east.

The only ones in the east getting older are boston. While yes we have beaten orlando this year, we are still a longgggg shot from hanging with the best in the east and being "beasts". Melo will prolly come to the knicks now. Even more competition now. There is a large in between in the east. Boston has maybe one more year and they are done. We also will have these young teams like the knicks, bulls, Hawks, Miami, bucks (yes they are awful right now but they do have a nice PG and C thing going which the raps need desperately). Only way we can start to make a jump is to get a guy like blake and start to build around him like the clippers.

I hear people say that all the time but sometimes you have to wonder if the top tier teams play down to the competition they play because the next year that same lower team is saying the same team.

Or if a bad team has a good end to the season you will hear "See we're good. Next year is going to be great" and then they're in the same exact position again. Happens in all sports also.

I would like to see BC around for a long time. He'll get it right eventually. Now that he has a clean slate...really only Jose is left to hamper him from the Babcock days. He's got so much clout and a keen eye for filling out a roster by finding gems.

The way i see is that the raps sometimes play up to the level of competition while the elite teams play down to the raps level causing this "belief" that we can hang with the good teams. It is funny, we still do not win those games.

It was the Cincinnati Reds in MLB for me. Reds would end the year good and all the fans would be like next year is our year and then we would suck again. Until last year. We were finally right. lol

I, personally will be happy if/when BC gets extended. I say give him 3-4 years + a team option to bring him back and give him a chance to turn things around. If you want a proper rebuild them you have to give BC the opportunity to see things through.

When he got here, he inherited a coach and a star, an due to public perception, I think almost forced his hand to accommodate CB. Whether you agree or not, the fact is, is that this is now BC's team. He has assets to work with and should be given the chance (the 2-4 year window) to get this team back in a position to compete. If he's not successful by then, THEN it's clearly time to move on.

Toronto is shitty.

But they try hard, and the guys there are all pretty good and young.

They aren't too far away from being decent.

they NEED to get lucky with come picks though.

the dude inherited an excellent situation. and now that's seen as a negative. Good - let him do what he wants. just please change ownership.

Rich Cho? I'm not sold on him... It's not even been a year. If you mean Pritchard, you should really take a longer look at some of his decisions.
