Default BC on FAN590 This Afternoon

Didn't hear it myself, but here's a summary courtesy of HumbleBumbleBee from the RealGM

Denver – gets legitimate PG, local guy,

Negotiations with CB
After 3 years of signing the original contract then only can you discuss an extension
Same reason Jose couldn’t be resigned earlier
Knows several teams are lining up to take a run and at the 03 draft team
Talks about taking care of business…need to control circumstance, take care of guys, make them wanted, build around them (CB)…team is still sitting in a positive position

Addition by subtraction – team didn’t have same chemistry, PG controversy did distract the team
Jose proved his worth…earned his PG position...not meant as a knock on TJ
JO – hard nosed, gritty player…trying to help the rebounding issue (although out rebounded after the first 3)
Loved the way the team has taken on a defensive mind set
Much better chemistry, leaner roster, Sam using pieces that are there in a resourceful manner

i heard the interview and Doug Mclean brought up an interesting point that they forgot to ask BC if the they were in the mix would they go over the luxary tax. My take is MLSE are greedy f*ckers they probly wouldn't let BC go over the luxary tax

MLSE are greedy, but many teams are avoiding the luxury tax these days; it's by no means an isolated incident.

In another interview I heard that BC did have permission to dip a little bit into luxury tax if it really helped the team, and I think us continuing to win games will make that argument stronger.

As of right now only 8 teams are over the Luxury tax.MLSE is spending more then 15-20 teams in the league.I wouldn't say they are cheap.I wish we'd go over the tax by a few million dollars because i think either another vet off the bench or an upgrade at the wing would really put us in a great position going forward.I get the impression that BC isn't done with this roster this season.I think that a move will be made by the deadline that will put us a little over the luxury tax but that gives us more stable depth!

I hate rentals though, I'd love to see that move happen earlier than later should it happen.

Dumars made a great move if you ask me. He now has a whole season to get his team going, instead of 30 games or so.

What resources? Past the top 8 players, there ain't much there. And some of those are injured anyway.
