Just listened to it on Raps TV. Not bad. I liked how Stefanski is "slapping BC's hand" when his boss is trying to reach for the phone to call a "sexy" FA.

In short, all three guys clearly understand what needs to be done. Raps will start the season with the current roster, complementing it with some 1-year contracts to useful, character vets. Trades were not being discounted, but again, no long-term contracts would be coming back.

On the floor - building vs. re-building. I liked how Casey stressed that the defensive system should fit the personnel, not the other way around, alluding to the fact that some gifted offensive players should be "hidden" on defense by creatively employing zones and such.

Overall - great presser. This team is going to be ready to take-off again by the summer. My only "prayer" now is for a franchise-level talent out of this coming draft.

For those who are too lazy to listen to the whole thing - a succinct re-cap.

I don't like that "pack it in, zone..." scheme. The same thing was tried with Triano, with teams hitting three after three and our players too late to closeout. Plus, idea of Bargs playing zone, that looks scary.

Colangelo seems to have no faith in the team, its disappointing. Usually he sees the glass half full, now its empty without a doubt. BC needs to wake the up and smell the roses, I hope the Raptors finish last and DeRozan and company jump ship, maybe that will open his fuckin' eyes.

Why is it certain they'll amnesty him? It'll be the last year of his deal, he'd be a veteran presence and it would add greater flexibility at the end of year. Sometimes the ridiculous hate he experiences by this fan base is outrageous (loved the use of my thesaurus there).

I never said it was certain, i figured the words "i think" pointed that out. All i'm saying is they keep saying they'll have anywhere from 10Mil to 24Mil in capspace. That's a big gap...It looks to me they're looking at the amnesty as possibly a way of freeing up that additional capspace for next season, last year of his contract or not.

Absolutely - it will come down to whether they are able to sign a maximum salary free agent - if they get an agreement with one of them, Jose will likely be waived to free up cap space, although if they don't need his entire salary freed up, there's always a chance they waive Kleiza or someone else instead, and keep Jose's expiring for trades.
