Raptors Bayless really loves the T-Dot

Everything in this world happens for a reason. The man upstairs has a plan for all of us and ,obviously, his plan was to land me in Toronto. A new country, a new climate, a new beginning. I cant lie and say that I knew to much about Toronto prior to being here, but for the short time that I have been here I hope this is something that doesnt come to an end. Its not only a city that embraces us as the players we are, but as the people we are as well. You dont get that everywhere in the world. So, I guess to really sum everything up, I really hope Toronto continues to embrace me and this team as we continue to do the same......

I think he's going to be a really good player for us. He has the good qualities TJ brought during his first year and a month here without the bad...plus he's shooting pretty well keeping defences honest. He's not a liability on D and has a good frame on him too.

dude's enthusiasm is off the charts!

i'll give the love right back to him. He's already a good PG and he's got the potential to be great. You can't learn some of the skills Bayless has and give him steady playing time i think he'll blow up. For what it's worth i think he's already a better fit than Jarret Jack.

What about when the man upstairs lands someone in a car wreck? What's up with that plan?

You can tell he is smart because he knows what to say and what people want to hear, and he seems sincere about it, wich is not very usual.

One of the few dynamic players in the Raptors. Attack first, shoot second. I hope his body holds up, he's been hitting the floor hard a few times. The crossover on John Wall was nice yesterday. I like the TJ Ford comparison, but he is a better finisher and other teams will not post him up.

I like Bayless, he's a competitor, he never give up. Always attacking the basket, play with confidence, always at 100%. His game reminds me Stephon Marbury.

aka he's happy to no longer be backing up the best PG in the game and has a shot at getting real minutes to prove himself in the league

LOL that clip is hilarious..."Did the man in the sky save me when the boat capsized? Yeah... Did he capsize the boat? Well yeah..."

"I say fuck the man that lives in the sky" loll

Bayless' future looks bright with this team. I especially like his ability to get to the basket. Right now he is not getting the foul calls his way but after the refs start to know who he is a bit more he will start getting the calls and those drives to the basket will put a lot of points on the board for us.

Bayless is a smart kid, and a thoughtful guy. Seems fitting he'd like it here.

I added him on twitter!

This is where I think BC doesn't get enough credit.
The atmosphere in the lockeroom, the commraderie among players, and the closeknit feel that these guys seem to have for eachother should not be over looked. These guys play hard because they have a passion and have fun playing with each other. This is the first time in years we have a team that just gets it. Plays hard and with passion, and I think alot of that has to do with the guys just really liking each other and getting along.
This is why you don't see a guy like beasley on this team.... This is why BC grabs quality guys. A happy and healthy lockeroom can do wonders for a team and it's players outlook. Bayless is the newest member and is evidence to that.

Good guys finish last. What is the Raptor's record the last couple of years. Didn't the Lakers get the knucklehead Artest on their team. Didn't the Bulls have Dennis Rodman for three titles. The Boston Celtics have a bunch gentlemen on their team. Its all what they bring on the floor rather than how they act in the locker room. Its their willingness to compete. Rondo and Iverson are jerks and have had confrontation with their coaches, but I know when the ball goes up, theses players will compete and sacrifice their bodies.

Yes because all of these guys want to come to Toronto.
BC has to have a selling point for this club, and word of mouth kinda thing where players love it here and would want to join this atmosphere. If FA's hear that this is a fun place to be, that may give them an extra push to sign here.

You can't compare our team to BOS or LA though... those are veteran-laden championship calibre teams with tenured coaches.

We're a young team with a relatively new coach.... we can't afford to have a strong, out of control personality.... not yet anyway.

Reggie actually gives us some of what we need in that area though.

The selling point is winning. BC always went after the good character guys like Anthony Parker, Fred Jones, Jason Kapono etc. When Stephen Jackson was available in 2007, BC wouldn't touch him. The last couple of years we were labelled as a soft team and a team who would not stand up to other teams when our players fell hard to the floor (Horford Foul on TJ, Pierce on Bosh, Miami's hit on Bargs, Anthony Johnson elbow to Calderon). Its good to have some over-the-edge players on your team

The other underrated aspect of playing for Boston or LA - LEGACY! If you read interviews of how Danny Ainge got Paul Pierce to stay before he landed Ray Allen and KG, it was on the legacy angle, and that eventually they'd put something great together in Boston and he could try to get his name up there with other NBA greats.
-----------

Back on the topic of the thread - I really like Bayless too. Good head on his shoulders, and he's developed into a much more mature player than he was three years ago. It's getting to be like Hockey draft picks with the young players coming in. It takes them a few years to pan out and reach their potential. Shit, look at Bargnani. It's taken him 5 years to really become the dominant scorer we knew he could be (if he only stopped committing boneheaded mistakes!).
