I think toronto might be my favorite city that I've ever been to. And I swear I'm not just saying that....

I wonder that, too.

I wonder how many of them have ever been beyond downtown, from their condos to the ACC.

Raptorman 02-16-2011 11:28 AM

Didnt Bosh REALLY like Toronto?

PS. I heart Bayless anyways. This just doesnt mean much. Guess its better than saying he hates it.

Claudius 02-16-2011 11:32 AM

:nonono:

Downtown Toronto's a cool place, so I'm not surprised he likes it here. People like to crap on Toronto. Think about some of the other cities this dude sees.

not sure what you mean by this cg...? he's been to at least 30 north american cities, and i certainly have no idea how many places he visits on his own time. how many cities does one have to go to before they're entitled to an opinion on what they like or don't?

meh... toronto's a good city. i'm glad he likes it here. and even if he doesn't and is just saying the right thing in the public sphere, i'm glad he sees the importance of staying on the side of the fans and repping the city that supports the franchise that pays his salary.

What's wrong with T.O? It has a lot of nice places, beyond Downtown. I would argue that Downtown is not even the best place of Toronto. Sure, there are some ugly neighbourhoods, but what city doesn't?

jeffb 02-16-2011 12:34 PM

Toronto is a great city. But I don't put much stock in what any current player says about whatever current city he plays in. He probably said great things about Portland too while he was there. Whatever, still nice to hear though.

Ex2k 02-16-2011 12:34 PM

Remember when Derozen and Weems got into a car and jus started driving around and ended up in Missisauga somewhere lost? lol they had to GPS there way back...

Thas how you explore :yeah:

LX 02-16-2011 12:57 PM

what lenses is he looking through? In some respects I could say the same thing. In other respects I wouldn't even consider thinking such ridiculous thoughts. Gotta love twitter for providing all the meaningful insight.

Oh shit - I just got it. The dude saw me standing outside the ACC after practice yesterday. There's really no way he could have tweeted anything else.

Renihan_00 02-16-2011 01:02 PM

Whether it is genuine or not, who cares?!

If we have guys like him and Demar saying GOOD things about the city, it's important. I think the franchise needs that as much as talent right now.

FoldedLaundry 02-16-2011 01:06 PM

Well I remember he was saying that he was trying to find a new place to eat and all, so he probably is exploring. I like the downtown scene and suburban area as well as some of my family live there. Its good that he likes it here, at least we have players who like it in their team's city and respond to the fans in the town.

Acie 02-16-2011 01:08 PM

Maybe he met a chick?

I completely disagree Ren. There is plenty of goodwill towards this city throughout the league. Towards the franchise though - a different story. To change that you need talent, and you need that talent to amount to something.

And when it comes to the eternal barrier of this city simply being in a foreign country, that isn't going to change by any number of guys saying good things. Winning with talent will go a long way to making that stand out a lot less though.

Bayless was kissing ass pure and simple.

Claudius 02-16-2011 01:25 PM

I'm not a fan of the City of Toronto. Call it the 'Hamilton' in me, but I've never enjoyed being there.

Personally a bigger fan of Montreal, NYC, Boston in terms of North American favourite cities. World wide, I enjoy Berlin, Zurich and Lucerne far more than Toronto.

edit - i just like to rally up discussion.

thought 02-16-2011 01:28 PM

people need to lighten up. bosh is seen as the enemy if he says anything even remotely negative about the city. bayless is seen as an ass-kissing suck when he says he loves it here? there is a serious disconnect there.
