Want to learn? Go ask any number of women if they would be ok with being called a broad.

lol.. but what is the reference? Ah fuck it. I'll wiki it...

In the 19th Century Victorian British underworld slang, playing-cards were called broads.

Makes sense.

Very informative.. I appreciate the update on the origins of the word "broad(s)".

How very kind of you to be so concerned of the terminology I use. No disrespect intended, however, I'm sure your over-reaction is most appreciated by the women of the forum, kudos.

actually the term refers to the reproductive capabilities of women - the broad hips

and we should be past all that

My mother was the farthest thing from a feminist, but came very close to clocking any guy that used that word. It's from the past and belongs there.

I've always used it because of the playing card meaning... lol... I'm sure either would seem inappropriate or questionable anyways....

aw go sit in your mancave - nobody said you can show respect for women by not calling them anything. Broads is a disrespectful term. That's a fact. It was pointed out. Get over it.

Showing respect for women is something done with actions, and not on a basketball forum. It still doesn't mean that a disrespectful word is any less disrespectful. You're just not going to win that one.

You'd think just Yorkville, clubs, lounges, etc, but Demar and Amir mention places like St. Louis Wings and the Keg, they're doing paintball, clowning around at Best Buy and there "runs" in the summer, so they are not afraid to be "out there".

im a fellow torontonian and not one that likes the city he lives in. winters are depressing(not enough snow) and too mushy. the part of the city i live in (north york) is moring boring than watching grass grow. i admit, downtown does have its upsides but doesnt every metropolitan city? i mean montreal has a fantastic downtown, one i believe with more charm. Vancouver has the mighty pacific at its doorstep, halifax(not really the size of the previously stated but still beautiful) has the harbour. all i can say is toronto has not intrested me much in my life and i plan to move soon. probably montreal, hopefully vancouver. so from this i can say im surprised he feels so highly of the city

I love the food, the diversity, the shopping when I infrequently shop. But there's not a lot that makes me think there's no place better. Guelph felt more special to me, but then I had easy access to TO whenever I wanted.
