Default Barney the Dinosaur.

A grade 2 poem by Benzo

I said once you would be better than Bosh
It made my friends say "Oh my Gosh"
At the start of the year you made my pants happy
Then you got hurt and you started playing crappy
So people said trade you, before you're a bust
I doubted you myself, but hoped it was rust
Sam made you drive, and refs said you travel
The jury wanted your head, but I hid the gavel
Now you seem back, ice water and all
I just hope to god TJ GIVES YOU THE BALL
I pray your play of late isnt a flash in the pan
Don't worry about rebounding, get em when ya can
The future of Bargs is more than just lore
I stand by my comments you will be better than CB4

LOLOLOL... good one benzo.
but he wont ever be better than CB, sorry mate.
17/7 is his ceiling... IMHO. he's too inconsistant, and needs to develop some mental toughness.

haha ... screw sending it to Chuck, send it to your buddy Eric Smith. Chuck's not critical enough of this team, where Eric's a little more free spirited.

i'm just staying clear of the bandwagon myself... i remember jumping on at the end of last season, and then being the driver after his first game of the season this year. shit i think i even said something like "trade bosh, Bargs is our go-to guy...."

then Bargs fell hard - and fast.
he's picked it up over the last few games, but i'm not going near that bandwagon, i have little confidence right now in andrea's game.
i'm hoping for the best, but i wont get too confident.

3 more games thats all i need.
if he keeps this up for 3 more, then i'm back on!
and he doesnt have to be fantastic... all i'm asking for is 10ppg and 5 boards.
hussle, drives to the basket (not just chucking), staying out of foul trouble early... thats all i need to see from him this next week.

honestly, how can you say 17/7 is his ceiling? With Bargnani there are only two future roads: superstardom or bust, and it will be up to him which one he ends up. He can easily, and I mean easily, average 25 points a game. But unless he learns to play defense, he will fail miserably. You can afford to keep a kapono in the game maybe, but you can't afford to have a major hole in the center of your defense, especially when the other big is also a weak defender.

LAst few games?

Try the last 6-7 games.

which aint all that bad.

Dude is a flat out scorer when he's comfortable.

He would have had 35 last night if he had played 40+ minutes.

easily???
the guy can barely put 10ppg now.
either he gets in early foul trouble or gets eaten alive by the opposing C.

and thats only half his problem...
the guy is shooting an abysmal 38% from the floor...
with that stat, he'll have to jack up 30 shots a night to hit 25 points...
he has some MAJOR work to do... MAJOR!

i dont see him ever managing an average of 25 points.
17 is his max, period.
and i say this because he'll have some games of 30 a night, then others of 8.
he wont be a superstar, IMO, but he wont be a bust either... he'll gain confidence and be a "middle-of-the-pack" type of guy.
25-30 mins... 17 points/7 boards tops.

i think you guys are jumping the gun on this...
or maybe i'm just being a pessimist.

last 7 games = 15/4
which is great, but only because he's played like shit this whole season.

i can speak for everyone here when i say these are the numbers we expected before the season started... actually, i expected about 16/6 but thats me.

so over his last 7 he's put up 15/4... he's also had 2 games during that stretch where he only scored 3 points.... so dont get too excited.
i'm asking for 3 more games before i can jump on the wagon... you guys should hold off like me.

Well.

I can't see the future.

But from what I have seen.

Thats crap.

Bargnani can score 10 literally in like 2 mins.

You're judging him on number that reflect a major overhaul, something akin to Tiger when he re-adjusted his swing and rebuilt it.

Bargnani is a very talented kid.

I see better than you're seeing.

Nah I jumped on in Game six last year when he showed what he was made of while Bosh cowered for 9/10ths of the game.

i love your optimism SJ.
i wish i had the same....
fact is, i did before the season started... but after he failed miserably to begin the year, i guess i felt jilted and i've since been very careful about overreacting when it comes to Bargs.
so i will give him 10 games altogether (3 more) before i'm back on the wagon.
i pray that i'll be on it soon.
