Bargnani's new found super effort on D

DPOY right there.

That hedging is so exploitable.

I'd love to see clips of Davis for comparison. He gave his own guy zero space, played physical, and used his lighter, quicker self to help on the perimeter when it was needed.

antonio? dale? hubert? glen? baron? ricky? anthony?

oh, ed, i suppose...

just4_raps 10-18-2012 06:25 PM

he's slow as f**k getting to defensive spots in general. we've always known that.

nothing is going to change.

AlexRaphael 10-18-2012 06:28 PM

I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Don Vito 10-18-2012 06:34 PM

If Bargnani continues to struggle on offense... I say the starting role should be given to Davis. What would Bargnani be contributing if he isn't producing on offense? Nothing.

Superjudge 10-18-2012 07:51 PM

The same guy that made that video, if asked, could do the same to show us all some of the stellar "Ole" defensive sequences both Ed Davis and Amir Johnson pull off in every game.

But hey, it's pretty much how most people pick and choose arguments on here too...take something small, twist it about how you like then pass it off as irrefutable fact. Bargnani will never win DPOY, but he is no where near as bad as people say he is.

Bargs was trying to help Jan Vesely feel better about himself.

LX 10-18-2012 09:22 PM

It's one thing to make mistakes, particularly mistakes of commission rather than omission, and another thing entirely to simply be at least a half step slow, or completely lost much of the time when facing anything beyond a rudimentary offensive set.

Do you even watch the regular season all that much?

sure. i plan on it. I don't like watching exhibition games so that's why i didn't pay super close attention to things the last two years once things got to that point, but i'm interested in the team. I mean I'm still here aren't i?

LOG 10-18-2012 09:51 PM

he might be slightly better, but he still sucks!

+1

I didn't watch a single game yet plus I don't care how they play in the pre-season as long as everyone is doing good in the regular season.

this just simply isn't true. if he's not scoring, he pulls down those boards..hmm

but if he;s not pulling down boards, at least he's in great shape and being high energy.. oh wait, that was val...

I jest, i'm a bargnani fan. he brings so much more to this team than people see. just because he's our highest (or second highest to caldy?) paid player, they expect him to play at a max salary level. he can't and rightfully so isn't paid that much. bargnani, even if he doesn't score, creates chances for the others on the team due to the attention he draws. I'm sure there's a stat that can back me up here, danh?

I love basketball/raptors and i'm just glad i can watch them again even though the play isn't great most of the time. But with 9 new players and some of them i'm excited about (Lowry, Valanciunas, Ross, Fields), i care about pre-season this year more than i have the last couple years.

LOG 10-18-2012 10:01 PM

I bet there is a stat showing that our defense is worse with Bargs on the floor..

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 10-18-2012 10:09 PM

nope probably not. bargs is awesome, he never does anything wrong.

rockthetdot 10-18-2012 10:20 PM

Bargnani doesn't have a good "looking busy" face, this is selective footage from 1 game. Some people go over the top with their judgements. I'll still stand by Bargs, you can't win them all, nor please everyone.
