Angry Bargnani's inconsistency, pulling my hair out

bargnani WTF are you doing! 50 mil. You gotta be better then this Bargnani u have to be like the first game u played in the season against cleveland, come on. the dummest shit ive ever seen him do so far is this last orlando game he is on a wrong defender which is jj reddick and he leaves him open to go to his right man and JJ sinks a 3, after this he fouls howard on the other side and leaves the game, moments later jay breaks his frickin clip board to pieces. Can I have your thoughts on bargnani's inconsistency? Who else is gagging?

Well, I understand the frustration. It doesn't help his flow when the refs are giving him zero respect on offense or defense either though. That last foul on Howard, if you can even call it a foul, was downright atrocious. If you're going to call a touch foul like that, you better have been calling touch fouls like that all game. That was not the case. How does a man play defense when the degree of the fouls he's being called on change from whistle to whistle? It's a fucking crock.

The thing about Bargs that's been bothering me is how he plays outside in instead of the reverse. He'll get into the game and the first thing he does is launch a three while he's still cold. The guy had Lewis on him all game and posted him up twice, scoring each time. He has got to do more of that.

yeah what the hell was that he was gaurded by lewis the whole game and lewis isnt really a defensive player so he scored on both post ups but then he just stops playing and stays like cone on the d and a cone on offence

He needs to be more divergent with his offensive arsenal. Instead of driving baseline as he tends to do everytime he drives, he needs to utilize his crossover dribble -which is actually decent. Also, he's proven to be somewhat proficient in the post this year; needs to assert himself down low more often.

He seems to be rebounding more and I don't have much of a gripe with his 1 on 1 denfensive capabilities. However, his defense on pick and roll situation is mortifying. He fails to hedge enough IMO.

Andrea does tend to fail at hedging, but the Raptors game plan with regards to the PNR is atrocious in the first place. They were switching on and going under screens set for JJ Reddick. Really?

It's tough to blame him too much today as he has the flu. On other days, though, I agree with most of your posts.

Still, today vs. Orlando, I feel we were simply beaten by a better team. We still don't have our shit together and can't put together 4 tough quarters of play.

Today we held Ryan Anderson in check, but got torched by Redick. I felt that leaving Jack on the court vs. Redick with Jose checking J-Will was coaching suicide. Know your matchups, Triano!

I don't get why Bargs has been hesitating so much with his shots. He's pulling a Kapono over and over again

Pull the trigger on a decent offer for Bargs ASAP.

Does he not understand that a pump fake for 3, and stepping one step in front of the 3 (off balance) is the lowest percentage shot in basketball?

Bargs needs to stop floating around the arc and needs to utilize his size in the high/low post more. He's 7'0" and 250lbs. He needs to stop playing like he's 5'10" 185lbs.

That being said, there were some brutal calls on him today. They reffed him as if his name was Haffa.

He's a rhythm player. He needs to find it in a game-by-game basis.
When he's dialed in he is dialed in, and everyone in the organization loves him to death.
But there are days where he's caught standing around.

Sadly, I've seen more of the latter than I have of the former.

I see him following shots and getting after the rebounds and I feel pretty good about him, but then he does nothing else that requires any kind of effort. It's like he has a standard, limited amount of effort that he is going to bring to any game, and if he uses it up on the little things, then it's not going to be there for scoring.

Basically - he's still finding his way. A good game here or there doesn't change that fact. My big question is will he find his way as a player in this league for certain, starting say by mid-December, or should we be looking to find a solid, consistent role player in return for the fairly good numbers he has shown thus far? Or is there a need for a coaching change. It would wonderful to get inside Colangelo's head right now.

Some notes on today's performance. While he usually has flaws today was an exception. My friend who was at the game relayed some info onto me. Basically Bargs could barely stand at times let alone play. The flu clearly had a detrimental effect on his game and he should have never been in there.
