Bargnani's Centre counterparts struggling...

The Centres that Bargs has ben matched up against in the last 14 games (including, Yao,Shaq,Howard,NeNe,Sheed) have grabbed a total of 49 rebounds.

That averages out to 3.5RPG?? WTF?

In the 29 games prior, on average the starting centres were averaging 8.5 RPG against the Raps!

Considering he often needs to be guarded on the perimeter it's not too shocking to see some difference, but that's a huge drop.

thats a great stat Jeff.

it helps explain some stuff that is often overlooked. Toronto's bigs create HAVOC for opposing teams. A solid wing guy, and toronto is looking good.

he isn't, but I think the stats sample is not big enough. If this trend continues for a longer stretch, it has huge implications, also would make a good rebounding SF even more valuable.

Bargnani boxes out quite well, and has been doing so for the last month. He's also a good disciple of the Rasho "tap out." He still doesn't grab boards for himself as much as I would like, but he's much improved, and improving. I'm impressed from what I've seen in Bargs in the past month.

I just had it out on ESPN with some nitwit who pirated a thread I made about how well Bargnani is coming along. The guy was offended I said he has been unguardable oveer the last 20 games.

Told me that Scalebrine had givin him FITS the other night. 23 points 8 boards on 9/20 shooting isn't exactly MVP numbers, but to be honest, for a mobile Center not scoring all his buckets from 2 feet, i'd hardly call that "fits".

Fuck, Kobe, wade, and Lebron routinely toss up 30 shots and shoot less then .500, and they are all MVP candidates.

fuck people bother me.

It's ok man, they're gonna get schooled whether they respect him (and the Raps) or not.

Bargs plays away from the basket so the C's aren't in position for rebounds.
Check how many rebounds the opposing PF's get and I think they'll make up the difference
