Bargnani's 28pts Beat Canada

Quote:
ITALIA-CANADA 91-69

Bargnani 28 pts (FG 7/10 ; 3pt 2/4 ; FT 8/9), 7 reb.

Italy celebrated the opening win at the Trentino Cup. Four teams hit the road as Italy faced Canada, while New Zealand played against Portugal in the first round of action. Andrea Bargnani (209-F/C-85) unleashed 28 points to pace the Azzurri to the starting victory.

The teams were tied at 19 after ten minutes of action. But the hosts started to take over in the second quarter. They held Canada to 15 points in the second frame to earn an 11-point lead at halftime. Italy continued to dominate after the long break. They ballooned the margin to 22 points heading into the fourth period. Canada failed to reignite the intrigue as the home team cruised to the win at the end.
Marco Belinelli (196-G-86) scored 22 points for Italy. Luigi Datome (202-G/F-87) and Aradori added 8 points apiece for the winners. Jesse Young (207-C-80, college: George Mason) notched 16 points for Canada. Andy Rautins (196-G-86) had 15 points in the losing case.

Belli looked lit a bit of a chucker - could be the way they've put the reel together, though. And where is the "face of the Knicks", Mr. Galinari?

Bargs looks nice and self-assured. I love the shot at the top of the key as opposed to the NBA three point shot for him.

He looks nice. I just get mad at him on moments like that at 2:15

Damn it Bargs put your 7'0 body and get the ball on a post up! Instead he creates an isolation to Bellineli... He needs to show his interior power

GSW fans should be excited. Bellineli looked great. He has the talent to be a star in the NBA

It seems like Andrea's got a new swag about him, as if he knows he's the best player on the floor, and I love that.

He needs to post his defender up and then use a spin move to drive to the basket.

Bargs makes it look effortless and drops 28. I still think he's only scratching the surface of what he can become.

i thought FIBA uses #1 to #15 for jerseys? Bargs is wearing #35, and why does he wear #35 when #7 is his number and he's probably the star on the italian team and yet he doesn't get to wear his own number????
who is on team canada? joel anthony???

"Bargnani 28 pts (FG 7/10 ; 3pt 2/4 ; FT 8/9), 7 reb."

yes, I am not a math genius, yet, I still try to sum up those numbers and somehow it does not sum up to 28..

7 field goals with 2 of them being 3 pointers makes it to 16

plus 8 free throws equals to 24...

7x2pt + 2x3pt + 8x1pt = 28pt European stats

It is better they write 2pt fg: 7/10.
Anyway, I think that Bargnani looks too soft. He probably will become an Okur type player, which is not necessarily a bad thing but not a thing that Toronto team needs/can rely on too much right now.

FIBA uses different number ranges for jerseys.
1 to 15 is USA 20-25 is Italy etc. etc.

I'm a big Bargnani supporter, however, if that's the game he's bringing back this year, Toronto is in trouble. Bargnani is still floating around on the perimeter, and looks totally lost inside. Hell he had guys guarding him in the paint who were 6 inches shorter than he was.

I'm sorry, I know it says he had 28 points, but it was a hollow 28, and I would be worried if I were you guys.

28 points and still a pussy

This guy better be ready to step up his defence and rebounding

Time to start playing like a number 1, were still waiting 3 seasons later. or at least i'm still waiting. Seems most Raptors fans are just content with 15/5 and flashes of defence

I'm sorry I don't agree with you you...Bargs was his normal self...Perimiter player on Offence and a center on Defence...He used to average only 11+ppg in international play and now he gets 28 in his first game plus it's his first game how can you be so judgemental?

He got to the line 10 times put that with Bosh's 10 thats 20+ free throws and 10 fouls on the opposing team, that hopfully will come against the opposing teams big men putting there bigs in foul trouble quickly.

I don't expect AB to be a beast inside on offence (& he is getting better every game with that) I do think that we do need him to be a beast on defence.

I am however hoping he plays a little more inside during these games because playing inside doesn't get any easier when the NBA season starts.
