they'd better disable the reader comments. if anyone writes in to criticize, there's no way he's going to be able to defend his position...

Amazing game against Latvia for him.
It was the first Italy game I watched in this EuroBasket.
Does Italy always fight for board that way? As in, they aren't really trying for 2nd opportunities at all and just rush back to D.
We can't blame Bargnani for low rebounding numbers in these games if it's by design.

So much for following Bargs' blog during Eurobasket.

At least he got 26 pts and 11 rebounds this last game. It sounds like he missed a put-back to win the game.

I only watched 2 Italy games, but I think I noticed more effort from Bargs on offensive rebounds. I saw a couple of surprising put-backs from him.

We also need to have different players playing in different positions.
Good thinking. He's got coaching in his future without a doubt.

you guys are all pretty hard on a center that a shit load of other teams would kill to have.

I know he's shitty at a few things, but he certainly isn't a player that deserves constant, and I mean CONSTANT whipping boy status from a bunch of messageboard chumps.

Give a guy some respect.

While Italy was a fail, got to give Bargnani his props here. One of the better bigs in the tournament - and the tournament is very heavy on good bigs.

I'd take him for Lithuania in a blink.

This is true, Bargs is ridiculed too much. He's not a good rebounder and will have to strive to be average... so people get over it! Just because he's not a traditional big in this league shouldn't make some of you guys so emotional. It is what it is and his game is on the offensive side.

My main issue with Bargs is that he will eventually earn $12,000,000 a year. Now that's ridiculous and worthy of criticism.

So what are all these teams just dying to have a big that hurts his team more than he's able to help on that offensive end? I'd be ecstatic to watch him do the same for another team.

Where was the hate? Just because there was no love, doesn't mean there was hate. I asked where these teams are that would die to have him. Is there an answer to that?

If you need some love then I could say it would be nice to see him have a better shot at helping rather than hurting his team, by coming off the bench. But then you have a 12 million dollar bench player. Are there a ton of teams that want that? Really?

It's not a rule that he must come off the bench... that's a bit of a fabrication.....

There are likely many teams that would want AB, but to ask us to name them is a bit unrealistic.

As far as the hate issue, it's very rare to see you write a comment with any positive vibe regarding AB..... help me help you paisan!

He's weak defensively, at times fundamentally inept. Offensively he's not very efficient. What is it about him that so many teams would be looking for? Our own GM gulped and was forced to call him an enigma of all enigmas, after recognizing a disappointing lack of progress after 5 years in this league. The best that can be done is pointing out the few games where he seems to fulfill a good measure of promise. That's been going on for years now. I was right there with oodles of patience and hopes of realizing some consistently useful traits. But at some point I had to face the truth. He is what he is. That's supposed to be what consoles me now, but it is precisely what makes it very hard to fathom a bunch of teams doing everything they can to get their hands on him.

oh fuck man, you're killing me. The entire team sucks, therefore they all look even worse individually. You can ut any of the other Raptors on a good team and they would be ok. Put a 7 foot player that can hit shots all fucking day long AND get to the hole.... jesus.

It's about building winners and if you think Andrea Bargnani is that terrible.... I'm sorry dude, you're fucking dead wrong and thats that.

If a rebound falls between Bargnani and Brook Lopez, does anybody grab it?
