Bargnani vs. Motiejunas

Not that a draft profile is the be all, end all. But I noticed that Bargani came out rated lower and with less potential than Motiejunas. And notice which current NBA players each are compared to.

Donatas Motiejunas | NBADraft.net

Imagine having PF and C can score like that. The fact is I think Raptors need more defensive minded player+dunker. We need someone like Iguadala

Imagine rebound numbers LOL

As a Lithuanian, I would be pleased if Motiejunas would became as good as Bargnani.

yeh... no way we draft two same player.

we have already a lazy defender center, so let's go after a SF who can defend.

They are not the same, especially in offensive end. Donatas' range is a little overrated. He is not a shooter, he can hit it, but he it's not his game. When people look at his Bargnani comparison, they forget about his post moves, ability to drawn fouls. That what he does.
He only has the same weak points as Bargs. Lack of defense, hustle and rebounding(motiejunas improved it a lot this season but I don't know he can put the same in the NBA)

In a nutshell, we need someone who can slash to the basket and create his own shot. For that player to also be a ball distibuter would be huge.

I don't want him here either. Having said that, if he comes out here all fired up like a Bogut, I'll be pissed. If we have to wait 5 or 6 years for him to "develop", then whoever picks him better also.

I don't think we're going to draft him, but it would be hilarious to watch those 2 play defence and rebound on the same team.

we have already what we need at sg (dd and weems)+at pf (amir/davis). so we can need a big center, a legit sf defender/assist and a young prospect pg.
but with 2 draft pick (one lottery TOR and one late MIA) we can search for what we need the most and what will be available.

sf defender prospect :
1. terrence jones is pretty good ballhandler and a solid defender with passing abilities. A 6'8 SF who can score, defend and pass the ball, that will be a great addition to this team.
great if we are in the 5-8 picks.

2. barnes or perry jones because of their potential. with our first if we are in the top 3 or 5 picks.

center prospect :
Boban Marjanovic
what a lengh 7'3 and almost 300.
Some defensive skills with abiliy to score.
a late second round, if we can buy one like last draft (alabi)

at pg none impress me, so if we can keep jose and bayless and wait until next year draft for a pg, we will be fine.

And he Plays for Zalgiris now, I tell you he is total 0 on the court.

The best draft would be Valanciunas. He is 18 years old. He is the best u-18 player in the ranks. He is athletic, very good defensively, he works hard. Isn't this what we need? A guy who is rebounding well and blocking shots as well. He is playing in Euroleague now and I remember game when in 20+ minutes he got a double double. Being 18 years old and in euroleague. Woaw.

He will be the steal of the draft. Book it.

Valanciunas recorded a double double in his first Euroleague game ever. And he started that game on the bench. Yeah, he is impressive. But he commits a lot of fouls, maybe it's just a lack of experience, it's his very first season in such a high level.
But in the NBA, if you talking about defensive centers, you think about the guy like Wallace, or howard. Yeay, Varejao is one of the best defensive players, but he still can't stop Dwight Howard or Shaq.
Valanciunas is all around player, not defensive stopper. He is master of the pick n roll player, good awareness, shot blocking. Big time potential but not NBA ready.

And we talking about late second rounder, not a top10 pick. Boban is terrible, but he is 7'3, as a late second rounder, he is not that bad...

exactly what i was saying

and 7"3 and 300, that is some presence as backup center who just because he is here can stop you.

As a prospect, yes. I always was a little hater of Motiejunas, but the guy show serious numbers in a good team. He is better player than Valanciunas at the moment. But Valanciunas is only 18! The best LT prospect since Sabonis.

Valanciunas has better chances to became an allstar, but in the same time, Motiejunas has better cahnces to became a superstar.
I mean Valanciunas is less risky prospect. Motiejunas is a very risky prospect but his potential is huge. He is work-ethic, hits the gym, He still skiny but he gets ripped and it shows. His post moves skill set and foot work is amazig, he has shooting range, became better rebounder and defender. He can be big time bust or the superstar of this league.

You mean Lucas Nogueira? I don't know him and I believe he never played in Euroleague. It says he play in Estudiantes, it's Spanish team and play in eurocup, but checked eurocup page and I don't found him. Maybe he is loanedI dont know?
