Bargnani Out Indefinitely

Didn't see this posted.

Good thing? Bad thing?

Quote:

Andrea Bargnani is out indefinitely with an injured elbow.

X-rays Bargnani had on the elbow on Monday were negative.

Dwane Casey said that Bargnani's absence will create an opportunity for Ed Davis to prove himself.

Bet Bargs can't believe his luck.

jeffb 12-12-2012 12:12 PM

We'll never be able to move his ass now!!

Maybe they're leaving him out on purpose to see what Davis will do and the trade Bargs next week?

Bargn88 12-12-2012 12:17 PM

He lands akwardly on his elbow and now he's out indefinitely..Man the fall didn't seem all that bad..starting to think he really is made of glass.

Does indefinite mean like weeks or months?

thought 12-12-2012 12:19 PM

indefinite = not definitively = no one knows = il mago is a cream puff

creative1mm 12-12-2012 12:21 PM

well.. this is not a surprise, the team is willing to part ways with him, so even if he were healthy he probably won't play for awhile

jeffb 12-12-2012 12:23 PM

X-Rays negative, but out indefinitely?

Bone bruise? Bargs must be pissed, this might slow down the process of being dealt.

TORaptor4Ever 12-12-2012 12:24 PM

Gimp for gimp! DO IT!!! :dancing:

Probably 2-3 games, so they can assess if there's any improvement in ball movement and team effort on the court if he's gone.

Maybe they want to protect him from the home fans

He's played bad at home this year, maybe Colangelo doesn't want him getting booed etc.

Ya it's a stretch, but anythings possible these days

@BaileysBlitz 12-12-2012 12:34 PM

"This is bad news!" can be used as a double entendre in this matter.

That would be so wrong.

If anything, they would want him to hear the boos to get his butt in gear.

his teammates are probably sick of seeing him on the court.
BC told him to take some time off

Lowry, Bargnani, Kleiza, and Amir all out for tonight's game.

Waiting on test results for Lowry, Bargnani & Kleiza but all 3 are out for tonight's game. Also, Johnson, serves suspension. #Raptors.

@RaptorsMR

Yeah yeah we know. Lol

He's probably already been dealt.

That pisses me off of course it happens when we're trying to trade his ass. Wouldn't surprise me if he's milking it to avoid getting dealt.

True, Toronto and another team(s) could have agreed on a trade in principle but it may include Fields so they don't want to risk those two getting hurt so they've both suspiciously have been kept out of action to avoid injury and the offer being rescinded.

The same could be said for Landry.

this will put a lot of pressure on casey, because bargnani has been the lightning rod lately, apparently both with the fans/media and with his own teammates. Now that he's gone for a while, there won't be anymore excuses. Davis, who played pretty well off the bench, will also be under pressure to perform as a starter and prove himself that way. And finally, JV who also got some slack because he was paired with Andrea, will have to really up his game, especially on the boards and on defense.

Since the season is done anyway, it will be a good opportunity to see what is the true potential of this team, assuming Bargnani was truly the root cause of our problems.

Personally, I suspect that was a vast overstatement, while Bargnani has struggled defensively, he still brought a lot to our offense, at least in some games. His averages are bad, because he's mixing very good performances with massive stinkers, but at least in half the games he was pretty good, our best player in fact. Now we'll be more even, but given that even in those good games we usually lost, it doesn't bode well.

I hope I'm wrong, because right now, the only thing that really matters is Ross/JV/Davis/Demar and partially lowry. These 5 players have to show they're worth something, because they are our future core, or potential major trade pieces going forward.
